With Nope’s massive success at the box office and mostly positive reviews, Universal Pictures is no longer holding back on marketing Jordan Peele’s next smash hit. New promotional material for the film reveals previously hidden details in an effort to lure moviegoers back to cinemas. The two-minute clip is a spoiler-filled highlight reel of the film’s greatest scenes, which the original trailers avoided showing. The latest video, aptly named “See It Again,” immediately distinguishes itself from the prior teasers by showing a significantly different and more open-ended situation.
As the UFO’s nature is revealed, it may not be appropriate for first-time viewers. Almost everything about the movie OJ (Daniel Kaluuya) and Em (KeKe Palmer) are making (or trying to make) is either explicitly stated or strongly hinted at. Despite its obvious resemblance to the flying saucers of many alien invasion movies and cheap horror pictures, it serves a very specific purpose: to remind the audience that this isn’t your normal UFO.
After a tense pursuit sequence in which he nearly avoids the giant, O.J. comes to terms with how drastically different it is. The trailer also explains a lot about Ricky “Jupe” Park, the proprietor of Jupiter’s Claim and a previous star on Gordy’s Home (Steven Yeun). The actor uses Jupe’s experiences as a kid celebrity to attract visitors to his theme park, making his tale an integral part of Nope.
It was hinted at in the film’s closing teaser, but this footage depicts the terrible aftermath and how Jupe still struggles with what he saw as an adult. With its $100 million domestic debut, Peele’s third feature picture, Nope, has finally lived up to the expectations set by his first two. The movie might surpass the $255 million threshold that Gets Out and Us achieved if it is released in overseas markets.
For this picture, Peele assembled an A-list cast, including his Get Out co-star Daniel Kaluuya and the critically renowned performers Teresa Palmer and Steven Yeun. Michael Wincott, Brandon Perea, Barbie Ferreira, Terry Notary, Donna Mills, Jennifer Lafleur, Sophia Coto, and Keith David are just a few more of the amazing people involved. Nope is still playing in cinemas, so there’s still time to see it for the first time or revisit it.
