Maya Hawke and Camila Mendes have decided that today is a day for revenge, and they intend to take it. Netflix unveiled the movie’s official teaser and poster earlier today. In September, Netflix will debut a new dark comedy centred on two females out for vengeance. The poster’s pastel colour scheme is similar to that of the video. The film’s grim narrative stands in sharp contrast to the poster’s pastel hues. Large sections of the billboard are occupied by Hawke and Mendes, who plays Eleanor and Drea, respectively, and who are depicted with looks that convey their seriousness. The rest of the characters include the main antagonist Carissa (Ava Capri) and Max (Austin Abrams).
While audiences are aware of the film’s subject issue, they are also given the impression that Do Revenge would be a fun and vindictive experience by its upbeat poster and trailer.
Eleanor and Drea are two high school students who have been wronged by their classmates, and the plot of Do Revenge, which has been called “a twisted Hitchcockian black comedy,” revolves around their quest for vengeance. When Eleanor’s lover, Max, exposes her sex tape, her reputation as the “it girl” of the school swiftly crumbles.
In the meantime, Drea, a new student, finds out that she is now in the same class as Carissa, a former bully who circulated a vicious story about Drea when they were younger. After hearing one other’s experiences, Eleanor and Drea resolve to become friends and work together to get even with their abusers. Netflix’s varied September lineup includes Do Revenge. Also on the horizon are adaptations of Ivy + Bean, Cobra Kai Season 5, Fate: The Winx Saga Season 2, Ana de Armas’s Blonde, and more. The two main females, both of whom are presently starring in YA-friendly television series, have a thrilling sequel to look forward to as a result.
Hawke has just finished another season of the Netflix popular series Stranger Things, in which he plays the role of Robin Buckley. Mendes recently wrapped up the sixth season of her role as Veronica Lodge on Riverdale on The CW. Aside from Jonathan Daviss and Alisha Boe, the film also stars Rish Shah, Sophie Turner, Talia Ryder, Maia Reficco, and Paris Berelc. Authors Jennifer Kaytin Robinson (Thor: Love and Thunder) and Celeste Ballard (Space Jam: A New Legacy) worked together on the script, and Robinson also served as the film’s director. Producers include Robinson, Anthony Bregman, and Peter Cron, and executive producer Josh Bachove. On September 16, Do Revenge will debut on Netflix.
