In light of Joker’s commercial and critical success in 2019, many have predicted that a sequel, named Joker: Folie A Deux, will soon be released. Lady Gaga has announced on Twitter that she will appear in the film, after the announcement of the film’s release date. Joker (Joaquin Phoenix) and Gaga’s figures may be seen dancing in the dark against a dark red background in the footage teased in the tweet. At the trailer’s end, the film’s title and official release date are shown, with October 4, 2024, and Joker’s famous laugh can be heard in the background.
According to Gaga’s tweet, she is in discussions to star in the highly anticipated sequel with Phoenix, and she may play Harley Quinn in the film. The joyful musical tone of the trailer suggests that Joker: Folie à Deux will be more of a musical than the grim tone of the previous film. Gaga has acted in and won an Oscar for Best Original Song for her role in the musical film A Star Is Born. Despite the lack of new information about the film’s narrative, the tweet suggests that the next sequel will be an intriguing and unique take on the classic Batman villain.

After a recent shakeup at Warner Bros. due to the Discovery merger, which resulted in the cancellation of numerous future projects, including Batgirl, the confirmation of Gaga’s presence in the picture comes as somewhat of a surprise.
