After announcing that The Good Fight’s sixth season will be it’s final, Paramount+ has now released a teaser for the final episodes of the show. Again, a group of attorneys will attempt to navigate the American court system, which frequently convictions innocent individuals while sometimes being racially prejudiced and at other times simply making no sense. Before she could retire, Diane Lockhart (Christine Baranski) had to make a 180-degree turn in 2017 when The Good Fight began because not only were her life savings stolen in a hoax but Donald Trump was elected as president.
After six years, Diane still feels like the world hasn’t moved much. In fact, she sometimes feels like the world is going backwards. The new teaser for Season 6 reveals this. The teaser indicates that Diane’s coping strategy – psychedelic microdosing – is once again blurring the lines between reality and illusion to the point that the dream makes more sense than actual life, set to the show’s well-known instrumental score. The Good Fight and The Good Wife have won several awards for their unique brand of cynicism, which is evident in every word they say.
Alicia Florrick, played by Julianna Margulies, will not be featured in the last episode of The Good Fight, according to reports. While the show’s producers Robert King and Michelle King requested Margulies to join them for a three-episode storyline in 2019, Margulies’ refusal to accept less money than she earned on The Good Wife caused a firestorm of criticism. Consequently, her persona is only addressed in passing as a humorous allusion in The Good Fight. Andre Braugher and Charmaine Bingwa appear in “The Gilded Age,” while John Slattery and Sarah Steele are from “Mad Men,” Michael Boatman is from “Madam Secretary,” and Nyambi Nyambi is from “Mike & Molly” (Brooklyn Nine-Nine). Cumming and Preston, two of the show’s best-known performers, are returning as guest stars.
It premieres Season 6 of The Good Fight on Sept. 8.
