‘Orphan’ Series Starring Ellen Pompeo to Be Based on a Scary True Story: Release Date, Synopsis, Cast & More

Ellen Pompeo appears to be ready to leave the hospital. The Grey’s Anatomy star will star in and executive produces a yet-to-be-named Hulu series. Family members begin to think their adoptive daughter is actually an adult con artist as the series unfolds, based on an incident that made national headlines in 2019. An American couple adopted a baby girl from Ukraine in 2013 who had a rare form of dwarfism. After allegedly leaving the infant, the couple was charged with negligence in 2019.

In their defence, the pair claimed that the youngster was actually an adult psychopath who was threatening their life. When a Midwest couple decides to raise their three biological children with their adopted diminutive daughter, Pompeo will play one-half of the pair. The little girl’s family, on the other hand, begins to have doubts about their assumptions about her. This leads to “serious questions of their own about what lengths they’re ready to go to protect themselves, sliding into a war that’s waged in tabloids, courtroom, and eventually their marriage,” which the pair subsequently tries to overcome.

Pompeo is the only cast member that has been announced thus far. Pompeo’s decision to appear in this show is an unexpected one. Since the premiere of Grey’s Anatomy in 2005, the actress has stayed steadfastly committed to the show. Before Grey’s Anatomy: Station 19, Pompeo had three other acting roles, including a Taylor Swift music video and a two-episode run on Doc McStuffins. Her admirers are eager to see her in a whole different character as a result of this casting.

For the first time in eighteen seasons, actress Ellen Pompeo is ditching her scrubs in favour of the show. Katie Robbins has written and developed the show, which is characterised as a “limited drama series” at the start. The Affair and The Last Tycoon are two of Robbins’ best-known works as a television writer. The series’ showrunner will be Erin Levy. Pompeo, Robbins, Laura Holstein, Mike Epps, Dan Spilo, Niles Kirchner, and Andrew Stearn will serve as executive producers on the series.
