According to Deadline, Sony’s female-led superhero flick Madame Web has added Zosia Mamet to its star-studded roster. New York City has been recreated in Boston for the latest Sony Spider-Man Universe film, which is now filming. Mamet joins a long number of performers who have unspecified parts in the Sony-secret Marvel project, which has yet to be revealed. Madame Web, a film set in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe, is starring Dakota Johnson as the title character. A genesis tale for the character will involve Sydney Sweeney, Euphoria’s lead and two-time Emmy nominee, as well as an ensemble cast that includes Isabela Merced and Emma Roberts as well as Celeste O’Connor, Mike Epps, and Tahar Rahim.
Comic book Web is shown as an elderly woman who has myasthenia gravis, a severe and debilitating autoimmune condition. A life-support machine is always linked to the Web because of her disease. Spider-multiverse-spanning Man’s exploits are occasionally helped by her clairvoyant and psychic skills. Madame Web may be setting the stage for a future visit by Peter Parker (whether it’s Tom Holland or not) in Sony’s current film world named after him, despite the fact that Spider-Man has yet to appear there. After starring with Emmy-winner Kaley Cuoco in the critically acclaimed HBO Max series The Flight Attendant, Zo Mamet makes her superhero debut in Madame Web.
Before that, she built a name for herself on television as the lead in Lena Dunham’s Girls, which won a Golden Globe for best drama series. However, Madame Web is likely to be her most highly lauded film to date, following years of critically acclaimed television parts. S.J. Clarkson serves as director, while Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless write the script for Madame Web. The filming of “Claire,” which began earlier this summer, will continue through September. Madame Web, the SSU’s first superhero-themed endeavour, follows in the footsteps of Venom and Morbius. Kraven the Hunter, Sony’s next Marvel feature, is now in development, with Aaron Taylor-Johnson at the helm.
The film is scheduled for release in 2023. Madame Web will be released exclusively in cinemas on October 6, 2023, a date that was originally scheduled for release during the summer.
