The new war film Devotion will send viewers back to the skies in November. While Sony Pictures has already published a teaser trailer and still photographs to promote the movie, they’ve just released the official trailer, which stars Jonathan Majors and Glen Powell in an intense true story set during World War II. Reintroducing viewers to Majors as Ensign Jesse Brown, the opening half of the trailer offers a glance at his broad responsibilities as a pilot. As the story furthers, it becomes clear that Ensign Brown will encounter additional difficulties since he is a Black man serving in his regiment.
As the high-stakes action of “America’s forgotten war” unfolds on the battlefield and on an airship carrier, a magnificent musical score follows it all. Audiences should expect a visually appealing picture that should be viewed on the biggest screen possible to fully immerse themselves in the narrative. Not every battle will be loaded with deadly explosions and heart-pounding conflicts, as the video promises. Throughout, there are moments that span from lighthearted fun to heightened emotional intensity.
When Powell’s Lieutenant Tom Hudner and Ensign Brown first meet and begin flying together, the audience gets a glimpse of the interplay between the two. Other facets of Ensign Brown’s life and career are shown in the video as well. Featuring two actors with prior expertise in both biopics as well as other high-action movies, it’s a must-see for anyone interested in military history or the genre. The true-life account of two well-known U.S. Navy fighter pilots, Ensign Brown and Lieutenant Hudner is shown in the film Devotion.
They flew more than 20 missions during the Korean War and encountered several perils as they fought off an invasion. Christina Jackson, Joe Jonas, and Thomas Sadoski all feature in the military thriller. It is based on Adam Makos’ novel Devotion: An Epic Story of Heroism, Friendship, and Sacrifice, which Jake Crane and Jonathan A. H. Stewart adapted for the screen. Director J.D. Dillard also served as an executive producer with Powell. There are four producers: Trent Luckinbill (writer), Molly Smith (co-producer), and Rachel Smith (co-writer). On November 23, Devotion will be released in cinemas only.
