The Peanuts-themed initiatives that Apple TV+ announced earlier this year will continue through the Summer. Lucy’s School, a two-dimensional animated show, debuted its beautiful and adorable trailer today. In the special, Lucy and her classmates are confronted with the idea that Summer is nearly over and they will have to return to school. Is there, or are we missing something? After enjoying the fun of their lives on a beautiful day, the Peanuts gang longs for their vacation to continue in the trailer. It’s impossible to keep up with everything that’s new in the school. That’s when Lucy learns about a secret exam that, if passed, will allow her to skip school forever.
The innocence of those children, and the innocence of Peanuts stories in general, can’t help but touch our hearts, even though we know that skipping school is nothing more than a quick route to adulthood for those of us who watch. Now it’s Lucy’s turn to teach, as she collects her pals for a study group and starts to coach them in preparation for the amazing test. “This isn’t going to end well,” Linus admits. It’s evident from the clip, though, that they’ll come away with a positive lesson in the process. Raymond S. Persi, the Emmy-winning director of numerous The Simpsons episodes and this year’s Peanuts special, It’s the Small Things, Charlie Brown, is behind Lucy’s School.
In 2015, Craig Schulz, Bryan Schulz, and Cornelius Uliano teamed up to develop The Peanuts Movie, which is the script. They are also the show’s executive producers. Charles M. Schulz’s Peanuts comic strip was the inspiration for a slew of films, TV series, and animated specials that have been produced since the 1960s. The Snoopy Show and Snoopy in Space, two current animated programmes based on Schulz’s work, are both created by WildBrain, a Canadian company. Charlie Brown’s All-Stars!, You’re Not Elected Charlie Brown, She’s a Good Skate Charlie Brown, It’s Flashbeagle, Charlie Brown, and Snoopy’s Reunion are just a few of the favourites available on the streaming site.
On August 12, Lucy’s School will launch on Apple TV+. The Snoopy Show’s second season premieres on Netflix on the same day as the streaming platform.
