Brie Larson’s debut appearance in the Fast & Furious franchise keeps her busy when she’s not portraying Carol Danvers in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. After a few rehearsals for Fast X, she tweeted a few pictures of herself on the road, surrounded by automobiles, smiling and giving the camera a big thumbs up. As she captioned the shot, “When the PA asks if you need another tea during rehearsals,” it shows a delightful on-set scene between her and the staff. There have been few specifics about Larson’s role in the film since she joined the star-studded ensemble in April. As her co-star Vin Diesel made clear from the outset, their adoration and admiration for one another were unrelated to her part in the film.
She’s also shared a snapshot of the two of them celebrating his birthday on Instagram, but once again, nothing about her role in the film has been revealed. The only thing we can infer from this shot is that Larson appears to be having a good time while working on the project. While Larson is the lone newbie in this year’s film, she isn’t the only one. The film’s villain is played by Jason Momoa, while Rita Moreno, the iconic actress, will play Dom’s grandma. Daniela Melchior’s character has a rosary tattoo that suggests a connection to Dom, while fellow first-timers Alan Ritchson and The Suicide Squad break through Daniela Melchior’s roles remain unclear.
In addition, Michelle Rodriguez, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Nathalie Emmanuel, Tyrese Gibson, Jordana Brewster, Sung Kang, Charlize Theron, Scott Eastwood, and Cardi B will also reprise their roles in the film. According to an interview with director Mel Gibson, Fast X will have additional information about Dominic Toretto’s history, but no other details about the film’s narrative have been released. With Moreno taking on the role of an elder Toretto generation, it’s clear that the Toretto clan has grown significantly. In the first of a two-part finale that will bring the series to a close, the film will be released.
While Larson’s involvement in the Fast & Furious franchise will come to an end, her future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is bright. The Marvels will feature her as Captain Marvel next year after Ms Marvel revealed her relationship with the child heroine’s eponymous character. With the introduction of Avengers: Secret Wars and so many others at SDCC, it’s more than probable that she’ll play a bigger part in the future of the franchise. On May 19, 2023, Fast X will arrive in cinemas.
