‘Sweethearts’ will star Kiernan Shipka and Nico Hiraga: Official Synopsis, cast & release date

Sweethearts, a new film from Picturestart and New Line Cinema, has cast its two stars. Keirnan Shipka and Nico Hiraga have been cast, according to Deadline. Caleb Hearon, Tramell Tillman, & Christine Taylor are also part of the ensemble (Search Party). Jordan Weiss, who created the Hulu series Dollface, will be directing her first feature film. They are still dating their high school sweethearts, therefore Sweethearts will centre on two high school freshman who is still dating. During “Drunksgiving,” a raucous Thanksgiving-eve event in their hometown, the two pals decide to break up with their respective lovers and do a “Turkey Dump.”

Their reliance on one another and their bond as friends will be put to the test. Throughout her career, Shipka has been in a variety of feature films and television shows. Mad Men, on which she featured with Jon Hamm, Elisabeth Moss, and January Jones, is one of her most noteworthy roles. Shipka is most recognised for her role as Sabrina Spellman in Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. The show aired from 2018 to 2020 for a total of four seasons.

Despite the fact that Sabrina’s eventual fate was made clear in the series conclusion, she finds fresh life in Riverdale on The CW. Shipka guest starred in two episodes of the currently airing sixth season to help out fellow witch Cheryl Blossom and the rest of the Archie Comics gang. The character of Tanner, played by Hiraga in the Olivia Wilde comedy Booksmart, is well-known. Aside from that, he’s been in the Netflix original films Moxie and the just-released Hello, Goodbye and Everything in Between. In addition to Sweethearts, he has a few more projects in the works.

The Power, starring John Leguizamo and Auli’i Cravalho, will be his next on-screen appearance. Additionally, he will appear in The Idol, a film by The Weeknd. It’s also thought that he’ll make an appearance in Rosaline, which is the new version of Romeo and Juliet that’s now in production. Weiss also co-wrote the script along with Dan Brier, who acts as an executive producer for the film.

This film is executive produced by Julia Hammer, Shayne Fiske Goldner, and Samie Kim Falvey for Picturestart. Picturestart produces for New Line Cinema, along with producers Erik Feig and Jessica Switch. Sweethearts’ release date is presently unknown. While a result of this, Weiss posted her excitement for the film on Instagram as production had just begun.
