A real-life adaptation of Death Note The creative team behind the hit series “Stranger Things” is working on a new series for Netflix. According to Deadline, the brothers’ Matt and Ross Duffer, creators of the hit Netflix series Stranger Things, have launched a new production company called Upside Down Pictures. The company is working on several upcoming projects for Netflix, one of which is a live-action adaptation of the Death Note manga.
It is crucial to note that this will be “an altogether unique perspective” from Netflix’s live-action Death Note movie that was released in 2017, which did not earn positive reviews from audiences. The actors and crew for the new live-action Death Note series have not yet been disclosed.
In the anime and manga series Death Note, the main character is a young man named Light Yagami. He acquires a strange notebook that gives him the ability to murder whomever he chooses simply by writing their name into the book’s pages. The story chronicles his adventures with this power. After a series of successful trials, Light makes the decision to take on the alias Kira and use the notebook to rid the world of evil. However, the authorities are not happy with their new rogue ally and are reluctant to work with her.
The mysterious L, who serves as the second primary protagonist of the story, is a world-famous detective who has been paid to uncover Kira’s true identity and bring him to justice. While this is going on, Light’s goal of eradicating violent crime is becoming increasingly immoral since he is being compelled to commit terrible acts in order to sustain his coverup.
The cat-and-mouse game of strategic chess that Light and L, two extremely brilliant characters who are both determined to win, play against one another lies at the heart of Death Note’s main conflict. The next Death Note adaptation on Netflix will be the first live-action version of the story to be presented in series form.
