The creators of Stranger Things, Matt & Ross Duffer, have announced that their future spin-off show will be considerably different from the original series. In addition, you should not anticipate Eleven, Steve, or Dustin to appear in the new show. The Duffer Brothers recently stated on the Happy Sad Confused podcast (opens in new tab) that they have “read these rumours that there’s going to be an Eleven spin-off, that there’s going to be a Steve and Dustin spin-off, or that it’s another number.”
This information was obtained from Variety (opens in new tab). “That does not pique my attention because we have already engaged in all of those activities. We have lost track of the number of hours we have spent researching all of it. Therefore, it is rather dissimilar.”
They went on to say that the spin-off will be “one thousand per cent different” from the original series, with the “storytelling sensibility” of the show serving as the primary connecting factor rather than the characters themselves, and that they are “really jazzed” about their idea, which apparently not even Netflix is aware of just yet.
The fifth and last season of the original series of Stranger Things will be the show’s final season. This means that the adventures of Eleven, Mike, Will, and the rest of the gang will come to an end in the fifth and final season. As the Duffer brothers have stated in the past, there are currently no plans to begin writing until later this summer, which means that we will not be going back to Hawkins for quite some time.
The 2nd instalment of the 4th season of Stranger Things is currently available to view on Netflix.
