The much-anticipated events of One Piece chapter 1049 scanlations were revealed earlier today. One Piece chapter 1049 has a slew of standout moments, and it truly does seem like a chapter laying the groundwork for the conclusion of the Wano arc. Chapter 1049 of One Piece features a particular element that has fans split as to whether it serves as a resolution or a tease for something else going forward. Even if you disagree, One Piece chapter 1049 is a fantastic chapter, even by the high standards of the Wano arc. Fans of One Piece are left wondering if the Onigashima Raid has anything left to offer them after seeing the highlight of Chapter 1049. Niji and Yonji’s book is burned on the front page of One Piece chapter 1049, freeing them. The title of this One Piece chapter refers to a phrase of dialogue that one of the characters in the chapter utters.
After the events of the last chapter, this one continues the story. In this chapter, as in the previous one, Kaido and Luffy’s feud continues. While commending him for getting thus far, the former tells him that he will never change the world. Kaido’s flashback to his childhood in the Vodka Kingdom as a ten-year-old begins here, kicking off the much-awaited episode. At 10 years old, he has already proven to be the Vodka Kingdom’s strongest soldier. Kaido is now a 13-year-old kid in the flashback, which takes place 46 years before the current time. The King of the Vodka Kingdom tells him that the only way to pay for the Celestial Tribute is via war. What the king tells Kaido is that they’ve sent Kaido to the Marines because they don’t want him around the Celestial Dragons. A “government dog” is what Kaido despises becoming, but the kingdom just can’t handle him.
An official from the Vodka Kingdom states that if Kaido is delivered to them, they will be assured a spot at the next Reverie. This is followed by a scene transition to a Marine ship, where Kaido has escaped to. Marines on board are infuriated by the prospect of Kaido being captured on purpose for free food. So why did The Strongest Creature, who is known as “The Beast,” put up with being kidnapped 18 times by the Navy? In a flashback two years later, a 15-year-old Kaido is seen fighting on the island of Fullalead. In any case, it looks to be the same island where Blackbeard was last seen, and it has been transformed into his main base of operations. 44 years ago, the island appeared to be a haven for pirates.
After Kaido appears to win a battle in the flashback, onlookers acclaim his power despite his early age. Rocks have summoned a young Whitebeard, who calls out to him and says he wishes to speak with him. The Rocks Pirates ship is shown in the next panel as someone announces that Kaido has joined their ranks. It is imperative that Kaido and Big Mom travel to God Valley, Big Mom tells Kaido in his quarters aboard the ship. It appears that the next panel takes place at Fullalead Island, where the fate of Rocks and his crew is being decided following the God Valley disaster. There were rumours that they were defeated by a Marine named Garp, while some said that internal turmoil was the cause of their demise.
The following panel depicts a woman who is dressed similarly to how Big Mom did at the time yelling out for Kaido, wondering where he went. The story then flashes forward in time 34 years, reaching a point 10 years in the future from where it is currently. With Kaido, Higurashi establishes his new pseudonym “Embodiment of Brutality” via chat. As she continues, she points out that humans have always used cruelty to solve their issues.
Higurashi appears to be continuing his argument that humans are no different from other animals in that the strongest ones will be the ones who survive. Kaido agrees wholeheartedly, meaning that the focus would now be on the members of Rocks’ squad who left. A proposal based on Higurashi’s premise that weapons have an effect on the world in which they exist is on the table. At Onigashima, on the Live Floor, Kaido tells his men that he intends to show the “peace-loving” nobility what battle is really like. He believes that only in combat, when “everyone is equal, and anarchy reigns free,” can one truly assess one’s value. On his way back in, Kaido tells King Yamato had mentioned Joy Boy and had learned his name from the conversation. He goes on to add that Oden intended to prepare Wano for the arrival of Joy Boy. He tells King that he knows who Joy Boy is like the flashback finishes and One Piece chapter 1049 returns to the present.
As of this writing, what do we know about the events in One Piece Chapter 1049:
Returning to the present, Luffy and Kaido face off against Haki in One Piece chapter 1049. This is when we see the CP0 agent with the flowery mask fleeing Onigashima. He’s probably already gathered all the information he needs and has a good idea of how the war will turn out. When it comes to making his own flame clouds, Yamato tells Luffy to “do it,” while Momonosuke shows his belief in Luffy. He shouts for his flame clouds to obey him as pictures of the Flower Capital and Onigashima’s innards appear but to no effect. There is a part of Onigashima Castle that appears to still be on fire in Kawamatsu’s group. At this point in the story, Raizou and Jinbe show up, with Raizou proclaiming that the water of Zou will save everyone. A combination of their Devil Fruits and Zou’s ocean water causes Robin and Brook to fall into a deep sleep in the sea.
Others, like Law and Apoo, get washed away by the water or let it pass them by when the water explodes near Kawamatsu’s celebration. The following two panels feature Usopp, Kin’emon, Okiku, Nami, Otama, and Chopper, as the water rushes out and off of Onigashima. In addition to Sanji and Osome-chan, Franky and Zoro are visible, where Zoro appears to mockingly shout at others for being swept away. In the Treasure Hall, Denjiro hugs Hiyori and lauds her for her years of silent suffering, which One Piece chapter 1049 moves to. As Kaido’s flame clouds dissipate, Onigashima begins to crumble. When Yamato and Momonosuke find out that Onigashima has no Flame Clouds, they are taken aback, because they know what this means. It’s back to Kaido and Luffy in One Piece chapter 1049, as the former has a question for the latter.
As they continue to trade blows and use Haki, he asks his opponent what type of world he wants to create. The scene then shifts back to Momonosuke, who successfully summons flame clouds once more, surprising both himself and Yamato. As a result, Onigashima is safe and Kaido can be easily overcome. The conflict between Kaido and Luffy appears to be drawing to a close in One Piece chapter 1049. His fist bursts through the former’s attack as he says that he wants to establish a world where his pals can eat as much as they want. he wants. Luffy exclaims as he completely lands his punch on Kaido that it’s the type of world he’d like to live in. A dragon-shaped hole opens around the former as he is slammed into the earth of mainland Wano at high speed.
Following up on Kaido and King’s earlier chat, Kaido informs King that Joy Boy is the only person capable of defeating him. If that’s the case, King says he doubts he’ll ever appear, as Onigashima is seen safely falling to the mainland of Wano. As two skylights say “please conquer the terrifying dragon” and “return the Kozuki clan,” the people of Wano can be seen beaming with joy. Onigashima safely lands as Momonosuke and Luffy both sleep out from weariness in the last minutes of One Piece chapter 1049. The show will be taking a vacation next week, which is a bummer. The war between Kaido and Luffy appears to be coming to an end as of One Piece chapter 1049, but some fans aren’t so sure.
The narrator hasn’t officially pronounced Luffy the winner, which is a key piece of proof. Since Kaido won the opening round of their fight, Onigashima fights have gone the same way. Kaido’s flashback is still not done, according to the fans, who believe he has more to show in an additional round of their fight. Supporters expect the Awakening to be fully unveiled in this episode, and Kaido to use it to revive himself for the next round against Luffy.
There is no official declaration from the narrator that their war has come to a conclusion in One Piece chapter 1049, although it’s plausible. It’s unlikely that the series’ creator, Eiichiro Oda, could have missed something that had happened in every previous fight he had written about. Any way you look at it, the Onigashima Raid is finally brought to a close in One Piece 1049.
