The new games will be integrated into a single product, developed in conjunction with IP holder Rockstar, and while we might not see the outcome for a year or two, it is already widely anticipated, such as the affection for the franchise. The recreated Max Payne games are still in their infancy. Rockstar decided to allow Remedy, the original developer, to combine Max Payne and Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne into a single new game.
For Sam Houser, Rockstar’s CEO and co-founder, the prospect of replicating the original Max Payne games were “amazing,” as he put it. The Remedy team has been a huge inspiration to us, and we can’t wait to see what they have in store for us in the future.” Using Remedy’s own Northlight Engine, the team behind Control and Quantum Break has begun work on a new game.

For the current generation of consoles and PCs, Remedy Entertainment is replicating its legendary Max Payne games from the past.
Platforms for the remakes of Max Payne 1 and 2
The revamped Max Payne game will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, according to official confirmation. Last generation models will not be released. Until now, there has been no news of a Nintendo Switch port.
A remake of Max Payne 1 and 2
When it first came out in 2001, Max Payne was a huge surprise. A bullet-time system in the third-person action game slowed down firefights as necessary. He is a former NYPD officer who has fallen on hard times and now seeks vengeance for the murder of his wife and child. The neo-noir motif continues in the second game, as Payne is charged with destroying a secret conspiracy known as the Inner Circle.
It has a darker tone than Rockstar’s Max Payne 3, which was developed by the same team.
The release date for the first and second instalments in the Max Payne series
As the project is still in its conceptual stages, no release date has been set. Late 2023 at the earliest, and more likely 2024, is the most realistic timeframe for its release. Max Payne 3 is not currently in the works for a modern-day remaster, although we wouldn’t be surprised if Rockstar were to do it in conjunction with the remake, which is expected to be released sometime in 2014.
