Shiny Litleo is the star of the Lunar New Year celebrations in Pokémon GO. Pokémon GO, like many other real-time strategy games, tries to time its events to coincide with important observances, and the Lunar New Year is no exception. For a large cat Pokémon to take centre stage in the year of the Tiger is only fitting. As the year goes on, Pokémon GO’s content keeps becoming better and better, giving players more and more reasons to stick with the game.
Earlier this month, Niantic stated that the game’s February Community Day will include Hoppip, as well as the release of a number of shiny Pokémon, including Deoxys and Espurr, during this month. It’s a combination of this, regular raids, and the return of fan-favourite Pokémon, like Registeel and Regirock, that’s making the game so popular. It’s evident that Niantic wants to keep Pokémon GO’s momentum going strong.
February is an especially busy month for Pokémon GO players because of a Lunar New Year festival. Shiny Litleo is the star of a new Lunar New Year event announced on the Pokémon GO site. Pokémon GO players may be able to catch a Shiny Litleo for the first time. Several Pokémon, such as Para, Meowth, Growlithe, and Hisuian Voltorb in Pokémon GO, are more likely to be seen during the events.
During the event, which begins on February 1st at 10 AM and ends on February 7th at 8 PM local time, select Pokémon will be available in Raids. This includes Regirock, as well as other legendary and non-legendary Pokémon, as well as a handful that may also be shiny. Shuckle, Slugma, and Litleo are among the Pokémon that can be found in event eggs (which may be shiny). Galarian Meowth, Espurr (which may or may not be shiny) and Mega Gyarados Energy are all potential research topics for the field.
Event perks include double Stardust from presents, an enhanced chance of becoming Lucky Friends, and an additional special trade per day. The event’s perks cover nearly every facet of the game. Even though this one only lasts a week, it’s safe to say that others will soon follow. There were a number of significant events focused around the winter holidays, as well as monthly Community Days, from October through December in 2021. Niantic is constantly tweaking the game in order to keep gamers coming back for more. The next event isn’t likely to be far away.
