Rumbleverse, a battle royale brawler that looks like a combination between WWE and Fortnite, was unveiled during The Game Awards 2021 presentation by Iron Galaxy Studios and publisher Epic Games. Iron Galaxy, which was founded in 2008, is well known for fighting games such as Divekick and Killer Instinct, among others. The Chicago-based company has also established a reputation as a port studio, with Uncharted: The Legacy of Thieves Collection serving as its most recent major effort in this area.
The Game Awards were jam-packed with unexpected revelations that many gamers were able to take pleasure in. There appeared to be something for everyone on display, ranging from Monolith’s Wonder Woman and the long-awaited Alan Wake II to the already available Matrix Awakens demo and a combined The Expanse project from the new Telltale Games and Life is Strange: True Colors creator Deck Nine. Viewers expressed disappointment with the awards portion of the presentation and said that the show has a long way to go before it can appreciate video games and the people who create them properly.
The Rumbleverse was just one of a slew of surprises that were shown during The Game Awards 2021. Fortnite creator Epic Games will publish the title developed by Iron Galaxy, which is a battle royale game with a twist that will be released on the Epic Games Store. A melee-centric brawler-royale is being played in Rumbleverse’s battle royale instead of a third-person shooter or first-person shooter, according to Epic’s description of the game. The game does not yet have a set release date, but it will be available in Early Access on PC via the Epic Game Store, as well as on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms, on February 8, 2022. Those interested in getting their hands on Rumbleverse before the official launch can sign up for the Early Access period on the game’s official website. Because it only requires an email address and a chosen platform, the registration process should be straightforward.
Due to the lack of gameplay footage in the announcement trailer, there is presently no way to determine how Rumbleverse will function in actual gameplay situations. The fighting game genre’s history with Iron Galaxy, on the other hand, implies that future players should at the very least expect to jump into a pleasant and entertaining experience.
Epic Games is closing out the year on a high note. Especially noteworthy is the fact that the Rumbleverse announcement comes only a few days after Epic Games released Fortnite Chapter 3 across all platforms. An update of this magnitude for the ever-popular game includes a brand-new island, new characters such as Spider-Man, and new gaming elements such as sliding and camp building.
