Satoru Gojo is Yuji’s quirky yet brilliant mentor in the plot of Jujutsu Kaisen, and he has an MBTI personality type to match.
The narrative of Jujutsu Kaisen borrows a few inspirations from other action shonen series before it, such as Tite Kubo’s Bleach and Katsura Hoshino’s D.Gray-Man. Yuji Itadori, the shonen hero, finds himself in the dark and scary realm of curses and jujutsu sorcery, and he is Sukuna’s living vessel, like it or not. Fortunately, Yuji has trustworthy pals such as the departing Satoru Gojo to support him.
Satoru Gojo may be a supporting character, but fans appreciate him as an overpowering and witty shonen hero who can rescue the day and chew the scenery at the same time, even outshining Yuji and Nobara in several instances. Satoru Gojo’s personality may be tested and assessed in a variety of ways, and one of them is the Myers-Briggs personality test. His MBTI personality type speaks a lot about him.
Satoru Gojo, as an ENFP-A, is a vivacious and gregarious guy who can’t help but jump into the spotlight, no matter what’s going on. As a Campaigner, his MBTI type stands for Extraverted Intuitive Feeling Prospecting Assertive, making it apparent that he is a brilliant and cheerful person who feeds on the attention of others. A Campaigner is quite similar to the Entertainer personality type, except that Campaigners are better at planning and organizing, and aren’t as as fanciful or hedonistic as Entertainers are. A Campaigner is an Entertainer who can operate a company.
A Campaigner is a people person above all, and an ENFP-A like Satoru Gojo thrives on attention and appreciation from others, seldom being burnt out in their social life at all. Campaigners love to meet and understand new people, dive deeper into how other people tick, and wonder about the philosophical purpose of life all the while. Campaigners like to study the secrets of the world and attempt to factor in all the people around them to understand how it all works on a human level. Campaigners also seek the excitement of life and aren’t too interested in rigorous routines or formulae, yet they are still capable of forming basic plans and devising tactics to some degree. At some point, though, the Campaigner can become frustrated and start making it all up as they go, regardless of the outcome.
At times, Satoru Gojo may be serious and deadly in the plot of Jujutsu Kaisen, such as when he is confronting Mahito’s most powerful friends and other curses. Satoru may joke about, but he won’t allow curses have their way, and he is also talented at devising the best training program for every pupil, most of all Yuji Itadori. Satoru is efficient and deliberate, yet he cloaks his concentrated intellect in whimsical joy and partying it up with everyone around him. He’s equally inclined to tease Utahime as he is to work up a smart plot to take Mahito’s club down.
From the very start, Satoru Gojo has been an outgoing and friendly guy who is easy to like, and each real Campaigner requires charm so they may build and strengthen an excellent personal life. Satoru doesn’t make it his life’s aim to have plenty of friends, but it undoubtedly helps, and a sympathetic and courageous guy like him can’t help but aid people in need and protect them from cruelty and injustice. After all, it was Satoru who defended Yuji from the higher-up sorcerers who wanted him dead, and Satoru appears to have friends and allies everywhere. He has a high reputation not merely from his immensely overpowering Domain, but also his flashy and gung-ho nature.
All this makes it simple for Yuji to trust and admire Satoru Gojo, who is almost like the campaign manager of Yuji’s education as a trainee jujutsu sorcerer. Satoru also comes off forcefully to everyone around him, and some people react warmly, such as Yuji and sometimes Nobara, while others quickly feel weary or annoyed, such as his ally Kento Nanami, the gloomy Utahime and even Megumi Fushiguro, who aren’t always so glad to see him. Still, Satoru possesses the great ideas and instincts of a real Campaigner, so these people at least respect him, even if they can’t abide the happy and social aspect of his Campaigner personality type.
