The story needs a sacrificial lamb to illustrate just how dangerous this villain is, and Jack is willing to take the fall for the sake of the heroes. Fans will be on the edge of their seats wondering who will be Lucius’ next victim after his ultimate sacrifice, which will definitely raise Lucius’ character.
Chapter 357 of the Black Clover Dead giveaway: Jack does really perish
Chapter 357 of Black Clover will begin with a battle between Lucius and Yuno, which Lucius easily defends against. Lucius claims that Yuno’s strike cannot injure him since his offensive and physical talents have strengthened after gaining Lucifero. Jack, Yami, and Morgen become the focus of Chapter 357 of Black Clover. Jack has a moment of self-reflection as a flashback shows him fighting Yami. During their conflict, Jack wonders if Yami could remove his left eye if he tried really hard to do so. Jack wants to know what Yami did throughout the fight. Jack recalls that during the flashback, Morgen appears and lectures Yami on the need of working with the other teams. In response to Morgen’s remark, Yami insists that he was not the one who first provoked Jack and Yami’s fight.
An NPC named Green Mantis also makes an appearance in the flashback, when he or she says that both light and darkness are magical, ephemeral magic. Jack says at the conclusion of the flashback that he will one day slash them both. Back in the present, Yami is taking care of Jack, who is now feeling ashamed of himself. Morgen, meantime, makes the bold proclamation, “With my light… I shall transport you to paradise.” Jack has a moment of self-reflection, during which he realizes that he has destroyed everything in his path and resolves to end his destructive ways with one final, devastating attack. Everyone, even Morgen, is taken aback as Jack’s finishing blow opens a gaping hole in the ground. Yami is asked about his own earlier strike by Jack after his enormous attack, to which Yami replies, “That was rather a big issue.” Jack falls consciousness shortly thereafter and regrets wanting to sever Yami’s life so abruptly. Morgen, in the next panel, is seen feeling both sad and happy over the prospect of additional deaths. Morgen thinks that via death and rebirth, humanity may reach a higher state of unity. Morris decays Mereoleona’s arm at the end of the chapter while the two fight.

When Jack is reminiscing, Morgen enters the scene to remind Yami that they have a purpose and reprimand him for not working well with others.
