Nobunaga Shimazaki and Tetsu Inada, who had played Izana Kurokawa and Kanji Mochizuki, respectively, are now a part of the cast. The anime has been produced thus far by Studio LIDEN FILMS, with Koichi Hatsumi serving as the director, Yasuyuki Muto as the series composer, and Kenichi Onuki and Keiko Ota as the character designers. The soundtrack was composed by Hiroaki Tsutsumi.
The Christmas Showdown finale of Season 2 of The Tokyo Revengers aired on April 2, 2023, marking the series’ conclusion. The Tenjiku gang, commanded by Izana Kurokawa and Tetta Kiseki, will make their debut in the third season’s Tenjiku Arc of Tokyo Revengers. The Tenjiku gang is out for blood against Takemichi’s current group, the Tokyo Maji Gang (Toman), and its leader, Mikey (the deuteragonist). Izana took the name Tenjiku for his criminal empire from the ancient Chinese tale Journey to the West, in which India is referred to as Tenjiku. The Black Dragon storyline was resolved in the previous season of Tokyo Revengers, with the last episode hinting towards the show’s cancellation. Takemichi realizes that preventing Mikey and Kisaki’s removal from Toman is important to altering the unfavorable path of history, so he resolves not to time travel again until he becomes the leader of Toman with Mikey.
After traveling back in time, Takemichi announces to Chifuyu that he plans to take over the Tokyo Manji Gang in Episode 13 of Season 2 of Tokyo Revengers, titled “When it rains, it pours.” Meanwhile, Takemichi and his division of the Tenjiku gang launch an attack on the Tokyo Manji gang, with Kisaki joining them. More than half of Tokyo Revengers may be found in the Tenjiku arc adaptation, leaving just the Bonten arc and the last arc to be adapted. Takemichi organizes his own gang to combat Mikey and put a stop to the multiversal cycle of misery in the final arc, which comprises of the Three Deities arc and the Kanto Manji arc. The Tokyo Revengers anime is based on Ken Wakui’s manga, which ran in the Weekly Shonen Magazine from 2017 to 2022 and was translated into English by Kodansha. In order to save losing his sweetheart Hinata Tachibana to the Tokyo Manji Gang, the story follows Takemichi as he travels back in time twelve years to middle school. Chapters 122-188 of the manga make up the Tenjiku Arc.
