Summarizing Chapter 384
Tsukuyomi and Hawks begin My Hero Academia Chapter 384, “It’s a Little World,” by observing the battle between Gigantomachia and All For One from a distance. Tsukuyomi realizes that Shinso’s brainwashing peculiarity is the driving force behind Gigantomachia’s onslaught, leading Hawks to deduce that using the giant was a risky proposition, despite Mt. Lady’s best efforts to the contrary. All For One, however, delivers a devastating blow to Gigantomachia, instantaneously erasing Shinso’s ingrained tendencies toward manipulation and brainwashing. Shinso’s peculiarity was the main reason the Aoyamas turned against him, and All For One acknowledges this. His approach was natural, and, to Hawks’ amazement, All For One quickly worked out how to handle Machia’s predicament. Now that he’s awake, Gigantomachia notices that All For One no longer has the same appearance, but he still smells like his master. As Shinso’s brainwashing quirk hadn’t been reapplied after All For One’s attack, he also asked why they’d abandoned him. This question puzzled Hawks.
In a flashback, Gigantomachia recalled All For One informing him that his successor would go looking for him no matter where he hid.
Gigantomachia broke down in tears after hearing All For One’s sincere regret that he would no longer be able to lavish attention on him. Tomura Shigaraki, Gigantomachia’s replacement master, could recognize All For One everywhere they appeared because of the familiarity of their scent and sound. The fact that All For One had deserted him and vanished for so long left Gigantomachia feeling betrayed. Fortunately, Kirishima was able to shield Shinso from the first attack by All For One. Only Deku and Machia, Shinso says, have ever questioned his peculiar brainwashing behaviour. Shinso recalled Gigantomachia’s insane mutterings while he was indoctrinated, in which the giant expressed his profound resentment at having been deceived.
This is why Shinso, fearing for his safety, decides to go along with Machia’s unbridled rage by making his quirk look bad. Shinso, despite his manipulation quirk, argues that he cannot influence someone’s emotional state. While Mt. Lady, Dark Shadow, and Machia hold All For One down until he disappears forever, he begins to make fun of All For One, stating that no one is on board with his big narrative. Meanwhile, a news anchor in a helicopter above the battlefield reflects on how she can’t resist covering the conflict between the good guys and the bad guys even if it’s raining cats and dogs. She doesn’t want to get in the way of the fight between Deku and Shigaraki, but she did recognize someone on La Brava’s broadcast on Gentle’s channel. She recognized the man in tatters as a U.A. she had seen earlier. a former interviewee, a student by the name of Deku. At the sports festival, Deku was terrified, and now he’s facing off against Shigaraki Tomura. Then another chopper arrived, this time carrying a female reporter who had approached Endeavor during the press conference following the end of the Paranormal Liberation War. Because they are no longer being compensated, she feels bad about making her cameraman go along for the ride.
She also clarified for him that they were not engaging in journalism but rather resolving a personal issue. The cameraman agrees, and the reporter mentions that they are in a similar position to the other heroes, especially Deku, on the battlefield. Although some of their compatriots have abandoned the battlefield, others who are still there have made the conscious decision to stay. Even though news sources throughout the world chronicle Japan’s destruction at the hands of Tomura Shigaraki, the reporter feels obligated to share the information that the people still have heroes battling for them. She continues by saying that her coverage of the situation would be shown regardless of the outcome, even if the heroes were to fail. The reporter hopes that by sharing their tale and its potential resolution, she may bring people together and make the world appear more manageable. Most importantly, the journalist is certain she can let everyone know that this is not the end of the tale. People from all around the world could be seen following the reporter’s coverage as the chapter came to a close, which in turn raised La Brava’s live viewership.
