Review of Tokyo Revengers Episode 10
Takemichi meets Hina in the premiere and fumbles for words upon seeing her. We saw her find out from her boyfriend that her father had asked him to break up with her since he was a criminal. She appreciates her dad’s worry, but she and Takemichi are still very much in love. Takemichi is so set on winning that she gets into an argument with her father, during which she praises him for being a beautiful person and assures him that she knows he will always be there for her. She and her ex-boyfriend break up, but on their way to the shrine, she unexpectedly runs across Emma. When Hina vents to Emma, she contacts Draken and Mikey to have Takemichi drop by. Mikey & Draken were able to face Taiju at the chapel as a consequence. Takemichi acknowledges that he is a bad influence, yet he is adamant about shielding Hina from harm. The two reconcile, and then Mikey kidnaps Takemichi and takes him on a ride.
The experience taught us a few valuable lessons. Mikey’s older brother Shinichiro was someone we were somewhat familiar with, but we never took the time to get to know him. Here, Mikey reveals that Takemichi reminds him a lot of his own elder brother, who, while being the gang’s leader, is physically weaker than anybody else in the group. Like Takemichi, who also had a weak body but never gave up when the going got tough, he would be at his best while serving as a leader. Takemichi once promised his brother that he would correct him and show him the proper way if he ever strayed from the correct road.
