This episode will wrap up the exciting battle between Rin and Isagi’s crew. Four goals have been scored by Team Red, while Team White has only managed three. As a result, the former just needs to score once more to win, whereas the latter must score twice more. Bachira may also awaken now that he sees how far behind he is in Rin and Isagi’s fight, but this wouldn’t be good for Team White.
Recap of Blue Lock Episode 21
Anri thought Nagi’s latest goal was impressive, but Ego said she was being too foolish to think of it as anything special. Once Isagi had finally beaten Rin, he found new motivation. He mentally mapped out every possible way they could be scored and how he could stay one step ahead of Rin. To match his teammates’ enthusiasm, Rin seized the lead right away. Barou scored Team Red’s third goal after some spectacular passing by both teams. Isagi felt he had deciphered Rin’s mind, but Rin was already one step ahead of him. Isagi recalled that Rin’s forte was commanding the attention of everyone on the pitch, and he pondered whether or not he would ever be able to eat someone so brilliant.
Once play resumed, Chigiri successfully tackled Aryu and passed to Nagi. Isagi assessed the field conditions and went straight for the uncovered area to snag the ball. The moment he felt he had the fight under control, Rin appeared to be his opponent. To everyone’s amazement, however, Barou had awoken, gained control of the ball, and scored a goal. Isagi was woken up by Borou’s playstyle and realised he had to transform into someone Rin couldn’t decipher. More importantly, Isagi understood that Baoru was the only one who could disrupt Rin’s controlling weapon.
As much as Bachira tried, he was unable to decipher Isagi’s new approach and predict that he would employ Barou once more. Rin booted the ball out of bounds as Barou was about to score. Everyone was exhausted from the lengthy game, but Rin began to take advantage of Aoshi, who she knew had the most energy. Chigiri and Barou went after Aoshi, earning yellow cards for their harsh play, and Team Red was awarded a free kick. When Isagi was trying to guess Rin’s next move, Rin took a free shot and put the ball in the back of the net for Team Red’s fourth goal. When he saw Isagi and Rin use their ego to score goals in their game, he began to question the source of his own ego.
