On Tuesday, March 7, 2023, the newest supplementary spoilers for One Piece were posted, providing a thrilling look at the whole events of the future issue. The fans watched the apparent murder of Vegapunk Shaka by an unknown assassin, who is very certainly the Vegapunk traitor or someone working in conjunction with them. According to the most recent rumours, S-Snake has been turning Usopp, Franky, and Vegapunk Lilith into stone as part of the Seraphim’s counterattack in One Piece. Interestingly, Vegapunk Pythagoras, who was also there at the moment, is not depicted in the issue being turned to stone (albeit just being a head). As Pythagoras’ role hasn’t been emphasised recently, some viewers are starting to wonder if he truly is the traitor, despite having moved away from that hypothesis. This article covers the events of Chapter 1077 of One Piece and explains why Pythagoras may be the traitor due to the lack of focus on his status in the chapter. New One Piece spoilers suggest that Pythagoras is the traitor since he is not turned to stone.
Basically a spoiler-free summary of what happened
Spoilers for One Piece Chapter 1077 begin with Sentomaru warning the people of Egghead that something more worse than the Oharan Genocide might happen at any moment. In the next scene, viewers witness Luffy and company engaging the Seraphim in battle, but their best assaults seem to have no effect. As Vegapunk Shaka searches for Dr Vegapunk, Zoro teaches everyone how to defeat a Lunarian.
After the destruction of Vegapunk Edison, the issue switches perspectives to follow Nami and her friends as they battle S-Shark. Sanji kicks the Seraphim and declares himself it’s opponent once it appears that her assaults have little impact. The focus of the issue returns to Usopp and his crew, including Franky, Vegapunk Lilith, and Vegapunk Pythagoras.
Audiences watch as the trio tries to restrain S-Snake, but she convinces Franky into releasing her and then uses her Devil Fruit abilities to turn Franky, Usopp, and Lilith to stone. The issue does not reveal, however, whether or not Pythagoras’s skull has also been turned to stone. The focus then returns to Shaka, who is making his way through the “Old Devil Fruit Research Room” in One Piece Chapter 1077.
When he does, he expresses horror at what he discovers and moves to liberate Dr Vegapunk and the Cipher Pol agents from their underground jail. Shaka’s skull explodes and blood sprays as someone walk down the steps behind him and opens fire. We have reached the conclusion of this issue, and there will be no hiatus until the next week.
The possible betrayal of trust: Pythagoras
Even if the extra spoilers for One Piece Chapter 1077 don’t show Vegapunk Pythagoras acting in a way that would make him appear guilty, they also don’t reveal anything that would lead anybody to believe that he is innocent. This would have been the perfect opportunity for Eiichiro Oda, the series creator and illustrator, to depict Pythagoras being turned to stone to establish his innocence. Sometimes inaction may be just as telling as doing an action. This is how many readers interpret Oda’s decision to conceal the moment when Pythagoras was transformed into stone. This is consistent with Oda’s usual technique of conveying information to the reader without really conveying it.
This is consistent with the earlier speculation that Pythagoras was the traitor.
For instance, he stands in for the collective Vegapunks’ knowledge and is therefore the group’s de facto wise leader. Perhaps he thinks the best course of action is to comply with the World Government’s execution orders for them to avoid any further pain. In the most current issue of One Piece, the Vegapunks and Straw Hats all gathered in one room, with the exception of Lilith and Pythagoras. With Lilith becoming a stone statue, she is probably safe from being a traitor. Similarly, new spoilers suggest that Pythagoras is the real Vegapunk traitor because he has not been revealed to have turned to stone.

Recent Leaks for Chapter 1077
Now that One Piece chapter 1076 has been released, readers are wondering what will happen in the next chapter, 1077. Unfortunately, the series is taking a week off this week, so readers won’t be able to discover for themselves what’s in the upcoming issue for quite some time. In addition, the spoiler procedure for One Piece chapter 1077 will be pushed back by a week, which is a major disappointment. That is to say, until the publication week actually arrives, there is no dependable way for fans to find out what will be in the future issue of author and artist Eiichiro Oda’s smash-hit manga series. Although fans won’t have access to credible details about the issue until then, they may anticipate that it will address a few crucial story elements. This is a preview of the events that will occur in One Piece chapter 1077.
When more Seraphim are awakened, the identity of the Vegapunk traitor is expected to be revealed in One Piece chapter 1077.
Speculations for Chapter 1077 (speculative)
The events in the most recent volume of the series to be issued officially suggest that the identity of the Vegapunk traitor will be revealed in One Piece chapter 1077. Dr Vegapunk’s incarceration in a hidden jail alongside the missing Cipher Pol operatives is a key piece of proof. The fact that he doesn’t know they’re on Egghead Island serves to foreshadow the eventual exposure of the traitor. Since that Dr Vegapunk and the Cipher Pol operatives have already been shown to be able to speak with one another (in the previous issue), their captor’s identity appears just a matter of time. Because of Dr Vegapunk’s ignorance of the prison’s existence, whoever the Cipher Pol agents end up claiming as their captor is also likely the Vegapunk traitor. The betrayal might be revealed in a different way in One Piece chapter 1077. With all of the other Vegapunks busy looking for Dr Vegapunk in the Lab Phase, the traitor may easily turn on the rest of the team. This would be a thrilling discovery that would increase the stakes and complexity of the last act of the Egghead Island narrative. Nami’s screams in the prologue to chapter 1076 suggest that something may have already happened. It’s generally accepted that Nami’s Vegapunk Satellite companion, Edison, is not the traitor. But, another Vegapunk may have defected from the organisation and identified themselves.
In addition to (or perhaps simultaneously with) the expose of the traitor, readers of One Piece chapter 1077 will meet the rest of the Seraphim. Given that the Seraphim are modelled after the previous Shichibukai, only four of the eleven Shichibukai have been re-created for the audience thus far. While supporters would love to see all 11 of the original Shichibukai join the Pacifistas, they know that’s quite unlikely. Besides the four previously seen, fans anticipate the appearance of S-Bat Seraphims symbolising Gecko Moria, S-Mingo Seraphims supporting Don Quixote Doflamingo, and S-Croc Seraphims portraying Crocodile. Although both Crocodile and Doflamingo were locked up in Impel Down prior to chapter 1077 of One Piece, many assume they would be exposed as Seraphim models in S-Mingo and S-Croc. Dr Vegapunk claimed that he perfected the replication of each Devil Fruit by using convicts at Impel Down as test subjects. Among all the remaining candidates, Gecko Moria is the one who best fits the profile of a Seraphim model. He is one of the seven original Shichibukai and the only one with an animal theme or design.
Others could say that Buggy the Clown is a more deserving candidate because he, too, spent time in Impel Down’s dungeons, but his present status as a Yonko probably disqualifies him as a Seraphim. The conclusion of One Piece chapter 1077 may potentially provide a report on the current location of Kizaru’s fleet in reference to Egghead Island. The armada might arrive at any moment now, with the latest official statement stating that more than a hundred ships are on their route. Nevertheless, this is just conjecture on the author’s part, as there is currently no confirmed spoiler material for chapter 1077.
Potentially Major Reveals for One Piece Chapter 1077
‘You Should Have Realized That Earlier’ will be the chapter’s title. Cover characters Judge and Caesar have identified Vegapunk as their true enemy. Zoro has come to the conclusion that the Seraphims are endowed with skills not dissimilar to those of the King. S-Snake dodges a bubble cannon strike from Lilith and uses the opportunity to convert Ussop to stone. The chapter concludes with a mysterious assailant shooting Shaka in the head, causing the monarch’s skull to explode.

Zoro Makes Progress in One Piece Chapter 1077
Given that the Seraphims are the primary impediment to the Straw Hats’ escape from egg head Island, Zoro’s observation that they possess skills comparable to King may provide an avenue to beat them. This means he may need to think of a strategy to take them down next, just like he did with King. We anticipate a counterattack to begin as soon as their vulnerability is revealed. This is because they have had to play defence the entire time, and things have become progressively worse with each new chapter. Furthermore, it is not out of the question that an admiral and one of the five elders are currently en route to the Island.
There is still a lot that may happen; we haven’t seen how Sanji’s crew is doing or what kind of challenges they’ve encountered if any.
Because following orders from Vegapunk satellites has not gone so well for them, the issue has become tricky now that Ussop has been turned to stone and only the Seraphim can undo the process. There’s a lot to digest here, but keep in mind that the manga has just recently resumed publication after a hiatus. Then the next three chapters should prove to be intriguing. It’s too soon to tell which way the conflict will turn. And even in Wano, we have not seen the character development from other Strawhats, so this may be their moment to shine. We’re talking about an Admiral and maybe one of the Five elders who are hellbent on wiping out the straw hats, so everyone’s going to have to bring their A-game to the forthcoming trials.
Chapter 1066: A Review
As the Dice Dice fruit is used by the seraphim S-Hawk in his attacks, Luffy and Zoro discuss releasing Kaku and Rob Lucci from Cipher Pol 0. In spite of Zoro’s strong opposition, Luffy takes the initiative to release Kaku and Lucci. To keep Kaku and Lucci from going after Luffy’s crew mates or the Vegapunks after they’ve defeated all four seraphim, Luffy threatens them. Even if he is entrusted with killing all of Dr Vegapunk’s satellites, Lucci agrees that he will murder Luffy first. A battle broke out, and it was up to Luffy, Zoro, Kaku, and Lucci to put an end to the seraphims with their combined might. Nevertheless, Dr Vegapunk and the other Cipher Pol operatives who had been holed up in the lab emerged from hiding. Two months without food has left the agents on Egghead Island demanding answers from Dr Vegapunk, who has no idea who they are.
Dr Vegapunk knows this can only end badly and worries that the global government may have found out they were studying poneglyphs on the island. Almost a hundred maritime vessels, according to sources at the time, were en route from branch G-9 to Egghead Island.
In the meantime, Shanks and the Red-Hair Pirates are at a nearby port, chugging rum with Dorry and Brogy of the Giant Warrior Pirates.
A member of Shanks’ crew showed there to report that the Child Pirates had launched an attack. The Red Hair and the Child Pirates have both been spotted in Elbaf. Rockstar was told by Shanks to tell Eustass Child that they must give over the Road Poneglyph or else they will have to fight. Killer makes a joke about Kid’s amputated limb right before the story closes, much to Kid’s displeasure. He also warns that if they encounter the Red Hair pirates again, Kid might not make it. But Kid reassured Killer that he need not worry, as he is confident he can defeat Shanks.
Recent Leaks about Chapter 1077
On the basis of early leaks and raw scans, One Piece 1077 appears to include spectacular battles, exciting new developments in the story, and humorous interludes. There is, however, one item that has disappointed the audience. When the Straw Hat Pirates were formed, Usopp wasn’t supposed to become their best fighter. Recent arcs, however, have seen him perform very poorly in terms of both power and narrative focus. Usopp’s dismal run of form in One Piece appears to continue in chapter 1077.
Usopp has yet another dismal performance in One Piece episode 1077.
To be sure, Usopp never intended to be a powerhouse, but he should still be able to do a decent job. Usopp is one of the Straw Hat Pirates. He has the ambition to be a “brave warrior of the sea” like his father Yasopp but is physically weak and timid by nature. Usopp decided to join the crew of the Straw Hat after Luffy, Zoro, and Nami helped him save his companion Kaya and the Syrup Village from the Black Cat Pirates. He got particularly close to Luffy, and the two of them quickly became best of friends. There are a lot of jokes because of Luffy and Usopp’s antics. They also have a link to the Red Hair Pirates since they look up to Shanks and Yasopp, two of the crew members.
Disagreements arose from Usopp’s timidity and Luffy’s fearlessness. Usopp is highly emotional, often bursting into tears or exploding in anger when under emotional duress. The uncertainty and dread that drives his cowardice. Usopp felt like a burden on the crew after being severely battered by the Franky Family and facing the prospect of losing the Going Merry, the ship he had grown to love. Because of this, he became hostile against Luffy. Later on, Zoro insisted that Luffy refuse Usopp’s presence on the crew until the latter apologised to the captain. Luffy was relieved to have Usopp back in the crew after he apologised for his previous actions. Usopp is a coward, but he is able to overcome his fears in a crisis and act bravely for the sake of those he cares about, both those he knows well and those he doesn’t. He attempts to overcome his fears by pushing through.
It is this mindset that shapes Usopp into a fierce fighter. Even though Usopp is supposedly the least powerful of the Straw Hat Pirates, author Eiichiro Oda has designated him as such. Usopp has often shown himself to be a skilled strategist throughout the series. He is so cunning and strategic that even his physically superior opponents can’t stand a chance against him. Even his natural resourcefulness served him well during combat situations. Nonetheless, Usopp’s fondness for Observation Haki more than makes up for his lacklustre raw power. This ability, like his marksmanship, may have been passed down from his father, who possesses similar capabilities but at a far higher degree of competence. However, Usopp is notorious for his lying ways, to the point that he takes pleasure in making up stories to tell his friends and complete strangers alike for the sake of impromptu comedic relief. Usopp is kind and kind despite his timid demeanour. His goal is to improve as a person and as a boxer.
How can Usopp become as accomplished as his dad?
Being father and son, the similarities between Yasopp and Usopp are striking. They’re related through blood, but they also have similar tastes. Both are skilled marksmen and Observation Haki practitioners. Yasopp is a powerful member of the Red Hair Pirates, while Usopp is one of the weakest Straw Hats, if not the worst. There is now a significant distinction between them because of this. Neither Yasopp’s missiles nor his Observation Haki abilities can compare to those of the enemy. Equally sought after by both the Straw Hat Pirates and the Red Hair Pirates is the mythical One Piece treasure. Usopp, though, appears to have a ways to go before he can stand his own and argue with his father. Yasopp is a very skilled warrior, and a leading example of his rank, the Commander tier. When compared to such formidable combatants, Usopp is just not in the same league. His most recent performances haven’t exactly set the world on fire, either.
Usopp was defeated in Wano by Page One, the weakest of the Flying Six of the Beasts Pirates, who is no match for even the weakest Commander. Indeed, Usopp displayed remarkable toughness by withstanding blows from Page One and Ulti, her older sibling. A real one-on-one victory in the New World, however, has eluded him thus far. This is nowhere near good enough to compete with Yasopp.
We demand much more from Usopp
Usopp was obviously no match for the combined might of the Monster Three. While Sanji has inherited his family’s genetic improvements, both Luffy and Zoro are dangerous Haki users who aspire to become the Pirate King and the World’s Strongest Swordsman, respectively. As compared to Usopp, the potential of even the likes of Fishman Karate master and former Warlord Jinbe, cyborg Franky, and Devil Fruit addicts Nico Robin and Brook is far higher. Fans of One Piece hoped Usopp would be able to hold his own against Nami and Chopper. Usopp didn’t make significant progress in his talents while Nami gained access to Zeus and Chopper mastered Monster Point. Even when compared to the least capable members of the Straw Hat Pirates, Usopp stands in stark contrast to his father, a seasoned pirate in his own right. Even though Usopp lacked physical prowess in the first series, he was portrayed more convincingly. His guile and deception allowed him to compete admirably even against Luffy.
Although Luffy wasn’t giving his best, Usopp nonetheless put up a good performance. The sharpshooter used his ingenuity to cause as many difficulties as possible for a far more powerful adversary. After what must be several hundred chapters, Usopp seemed to have virtually regressed. Usopp doesn’t seem to have progressed much despite the Straw Hats essentially being a Yonko crew. In the manga, Usopp’s Observation Haki from Dressrosa was never brought up again. Only in the film One Piece: Red was this stressed, and even then it was more of a father-son teamwork moment than a military achievement. Usopp hasn’t used his Observation Haki since the Dressrosa Arc, despite its potential to greatly enhance his performance as a sharpshooter. Author Eiichiro Oda of One Piece hopefully has Usopp in mind for a future plot point. It’s unreasonable to expect Usopp to compete at the same level as Luffy, Zoro, and the rest. Despite his limitations, though, he has to improve his performance at least a little at this point in the One Piece canon.
Since his fight with Perona in the Thriller Bark Arc, Usopp hasn’t even been in a meaningful one-on-one conflict. The New World characters he faces are often fairly ordinary or below, and he usually loses to them or gets beaten up off-screen. Usopp missed a fantastic opportunity to shine at the Wano Arc. The arc has given equal time to each member of the Straw Hat Pirates, even Usopp, whose involvement was little.
Usopp, in One Piece, Chapter 1077
The most recent episode in the series did little to improve Usopp’s case. On the contrary, it may have been yet another unfortunate turn of circumstances that prevented his character from playing a direct role in the goings-on on Egghead. From what we can tell from spoilers and raw scans, One Piece 1077 will continue to follow the conflict between the Straw Hat Pirates (who are looking for Dr Vegapunk) and the cyborgs of the Seraphim Unit (who are causing havoc on Egghead). Usopp was put in the same group as Franky and the two of Dr Vegapunk’s satellites, Lilith and York. York, who became terrified after the gang discovered S-Snake, the Seraphim modelled on Boa Hancock, had already been lost. Later on, Franky, Usopp, and Lilith all came to the same conclusion. Usopp was unable to aid the cause before succumbing to S-influence. Snake’s Franky and Lilith made an effort to defend themselves, but they were ultimately overpowered.
Indeed, Seraphims pack a serious punch. Incorporating the Lineage Factor of disgraced members of the Seven Warlords, and fortified by the unique abilities of the Lunarian tribe, these beings are cyborgs. No one had any illusions that Usopp could hold his own against such formidable foes. In any case, he might have at least attempted to remedy the situation. He might have utilised his knowledge of the Seraphims they had already encountered to formulate a strategy. It’s not embarrassing to lose against an overpowering opponent, but it is disheartening to put up no resistance at all. Fans probably weren’t expecting Usopp to actually slow down an enemy Seraphim, but it would still be a fantastic feat.
Final Reflections
Usopp’s goal of being a fearless naval warrior is, however, more aspirational than realisable. Usopp’s goal was never to become omnipotent, but rather to conquer his irrational terror. Usopp is a stand-in for any regular person who could be interested in joining a group of superhumans on an exceptional journey. Nonetheless, Nami has developed into a respectable warrior despite her inherent humanity and weakness. That’s why it’s understandable if some readers are dissatisfied with how One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda treats Usopp. Since that Usopp’s father was a renowned pirate, it’s reasonable for viewers to hope that he can achieve at least his father’s status.
Instead, Usopp has little muscle and no strength. Nevertheless, he was given much less screen time than the rest of the Straw Hat Pirates. The situation worsened in One Piece 1077, likely ending Usopp’s active presence on Egghead.
