On March 12 at midnight JST, the 216th chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen will be made available to the public. This morning’s spoiler leak has made readers more divided than they’ve been in a while. In this chapter, the setting changes, and the spotlight is squarely on Sukuna. Someone who was thought to be deceased turns out to be alive after all. The ceremony from the previous chapter is the focus of Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 216’s spoilers. It’s also the first time Kenjaku and Sukuna have met in the contemporary period. The likelihood that Megumi will be spared at the conclusion of his ordeal is diminishing rapidly. In the previous chapter, Yuji and Maki tried to stop Sukuna, but he was saved by Uraume. In chapter 216 of Jujutsu Kaisen, Tsumiki and Megumi square off against each other, and the purpose of the “bath” is revealed through spoilers and raw scans. In order to fulfil a rite that would give Sukuna more power, they set off for the Zen’in estate. After freeing himself from Uraume’s icy grip, Yuji saw them take off with Megumi’s body on a plane.
Jujutsu Kaisen 216 has been named Bath in the raw scans and spoilers.
From “The Bath,” Chapter 216 of “Jujutsu Kaisen.”
Chapter 216 of Jujutsu Kaisen opens with Uraume and Kenjaku, dressed in ceremonial robes, waiting near the Zen’in underground rooms. While being questioned by Uraume, kenjaku explains that he made a solemn oath to “forcefully stop the Culling game” by fusing Tengen with the rest of mankind, but that he became sidetracked by the “bath.” Cursed Energy was acquired by “crushing and squeezing carefully selected victims with monstrous poisons,” and the “bath” was initially designed to indoctrinate a valuable vessel with this energy. This ancient rite used to take a full 10 months and 10 days to complete. According to Uraume, they are seeking to bring about the “Devil” by forcing Megumi’s spirit even deeper into his body. Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 216 spoilers reveal that after Sukuna’s ceremonial bath, he rises from the water and continues with the ceremony. Kenjaku says he expected Sukuna to rush out to see Yorozu because of their previous one-sided romance. Sukuna responds by saying he doesn’t have any feelings for her and that he’d be happy to kill Tsumiki Fushiguro to crush Megumi’s will.
Potential spoilers for Jujutsu Kaisen, Chapter 216: An expedition back to the colony in Sendai
Spoilers state that the chapter then shifts its focus back to the Sendai colony, where it’s eventually discovered that Uro Takako is, in fact, still alive. Both she and Ryu Ishigori feel Sukuna’s presence long before the King of Curses materialises physically in front of them. Sukuna attempts to slice Ryu, but his strike is too weak. After making the necessary adjustments, he remarked that he would never again underestimate his opponent. Sukuna casually slashes through Ryu’s head as he tries to defend himself with a Granite Blast, presumably ending Ryu’s life. At some point after probably killing Uro, he travels to an unnamed compound to meet Yorozu.
Observations
Spoilers for Chapter 216 of Jujutsu Kaisen state that the ceremony should take 10 months and 10 days. Sukuna, on the other hand, seems to complete the “bath” in a matter of hours rather than days. Megumi’s friends would have gone to his aid if they had waited any longer. It means either they employed a shortened form of the ceremony or Megumi is no longer a priority for his supporters. Many of Uro Takako’s followers had assumed she had died, however, it appears that Yuta did not. Because Sukuna hasn’t seen Yuta in Sendai, it’s safe to assume that Maki has moved the student away from the colony. Although her exact whereabouts in Sendai remain unknown, it is clearly implied that Yorozu, a native of the Aizu region, harboured unrequited emotions for Sukuna all along.
In conclusion
Spoilers suggest that Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 216 is the first chapter in recent memory to be widely disliked by readers. Some people think that whatever Akutami is doing to the Fushiguro siblings is doomed to fail, while others see it as an opportunity to highlight the difference between the healthy, reciprocal love shared by Megumi and Tsumiki and the unhealthy, one-sided love shared by Yorozu and Sukuna.
