An official preview for Episode 22 of Season 6 of “My Hero Academia,” titled “The Beautiful Lady Nagant,” has been released. When the fan-favourite protagonist doesn’t utter his trademark slogan, “Plus Ultra,” this time around, a more sinister turn appears to be on the horizon. When the hero with the green hair uses the catchphrase “Plus Ultra,” the public frequently feels a renewed sense of optimism. But what does this mean, seeing that there is no explanation in the promo for Episode 22 of Season 6 of “My Hero Academia?”
The forthcoming episode will focus on the Dark Hero arc, which is one of the two storylines included in the current season. Although the conclusion of the Paranormal Liberation arc left many manga fans feeling dissatisfied, they likely already know what will happen to Deku.
At any point in the protagonist’s quest, the phrase “Plus Ultra” signals that the protagonist will stop at nothing to accomplish good and defeat evil. It’s also his promise to the public that things would turn out OK. A peek at the trailer for Episode 22 of Season 6 of “My Hero Academia” suggests, however, that Deku has lost faith in the show. His people are in danger, therefore he has abandoned his U.A. training and taken on a far darker persona.
With tentacles protruding from his back and a dark Deku appearance, he now wields the Blackwhip Quirk in its most frightening form. Unfortunately, it appears that his disillusionment will prohibit him from using his favourite optimistic mantra. In addition, Lady Nagant and the reveal of her history and driving forces are included in the promo for the upcoming episode. In the preview, we first see Endeavor on the phone, and then we cut to Edgeshot. Deku appears in his dark/vigilante guise, and the League of Villains makes an appearance as well.
At the same time, “My Hero Academia” Season 6 Episode 21 depicted Deku’s battle against Lady Nagant, and as the conflict progressed, the hero learnt more about the new foe. She was finally outed as Hawks’ predecessor, which meant she had to play the hero role in public while actually working as a silent assassin for the Public Safety Commission. Her double existence exhausted her to the point that she lost all hope, leading her to believe that eliminating the PSC was her only option. As a consequence, she was sent into the depths of Tartarus.
While she ultimately joined All for One, Deku saw that despite her alliance with the organisation, Lady Nagant was holding back because she didn’t want to murder him. Even though it put her at grave risk, she assisted him in deducing AFO’s next moves.
The next episode of “My Hero Academia,” number 22, will air on Saturday, March 4.
