Scanlations and spoilers for the current chapter of the Black Clover manga were made public earlier this week. Unfortunately, many readers felt the chapter fell short of their expectations when compared to past new instalments. It’s not like writer/artist Yuki Tabata is about to drop a truly terrible Black Clover chapter on us. The supposed spoilers suggest that this issue will mark the conclusion of the Hino Country storyline, as Asta will have vanquished the five-headed dragon. In addition, Asta appears to have triumphed against Yami Ichika and the rest of the Ryuzen Seven. Fans, though, can’t help but feel disappointed by the chapter’s lack of excitement. This is probably because Tabata passed up a tremendous chance.
A concise summary of spoilers
New raw scans and supposed spoilers for Black Clover show Ryudo Ryuya urging Asta to give his all in an upcoming onslaught. Ryuya continues by saying that the Ryuzen Seven will “set the scene” for him. Taking off his eye patch, he describes the origin and first full power usage of his Tengentsu. Ryuya explains that the only way to slay the dragon is to use Anti-Magic to sever its five limbs at once. He proclaims with great fervour that the five-headed monster that has been plaguing the area will soon be destroyed. Tenmanyashiki Fujio performs the Sound Yojutsu: Fierce Fighter’s Cheering Song spell while he speaks, amplifying Ryuya’s voice so that he can direct the others.
To prepare Asta for the last slaughter, each Ryuzen heads in a separate direction and focuses on a different neck. The severity of the wound, however, reveals that Hanegatsuji Jozo was ill-prepared. Ichika, who was first benched because of their surplus of fighters, is now allowed to step in and take his spot. When Asta readies his Anti-Magic Zetten to take on the five-headed dragon, Yami Ichika and the other members of the Ryuzen Seven cheer him on. Asta decapitates the dragon with ease, prompting Ryuya to offer his congratulations to Asta and the others involved. According to the supposed spoilers for Black Clover, there will be no week off next time around.
What Tabata might have done with the time he had
While the news that Asta has vanquished the dragon in the most recent rumoured Black Clover spoilers and raw scans is exhilarating, many are rather dissatisfied with the manner in which the triumph was accomplished. Some people think Asta should have faced the five-headed dragon alone and won. And this is not the major window of opportunity that Tabata failed to seize. If Asta was always supposed to need assistance in order to fight the five-headed dragon, then having the Ryuzen Seven back him up instead of the Black Bulls seems illogical. Although this may have been done to strengthen the bond between Asta and the Ryuzen Seven, with the exception of Yami Ichika, this makes no difference.
During his tenure in Hino Country, only Ichika of Black Clover’s Ryuzen Seven had any animosity for Asta. Asta’s brother Yami Sukehiro appears to be the primary focus of her elation and sense of belonging. Asta’s antics may provoke her wrath, but Ichika’s dislike of his devotion to Sukehiro soon takes centre stage. The only reason Asta and the Ryuzen Seven should collaborate is to further strengthen Ichika’s new impression of Asta; otherwise, there is no point in doing so. Asta’s return to the Black Bulls, though, would have made a considerably bigger splash. Asta’s original circle of believers in his mission and supporters would have been thrilled to celebrate his success with him.
Asta would have been able to demonstrate to the other Black Bulls how much he has improved physically since returning from Hino Country. That Tabata would want to have the Ryuzen Seven help Asta in his victory overwriting in the return of the Black Bulls is, to put it mildly, a surprising decision.
