In Review: Episode 289
The Captives arc of the popular anime series Boruto: Naruto Future Generations begins with Episode 288. Code first attacks Eida before realising he cannot harm her. In order to discuss Code’s clairvoyant abilities, Eida requests that Bug accompany her to the bar. Being clairvoyant, Eida states that her visions are limited to the time period beginning with her birth and continuing up to the current day. Eida demonstrates her abilities by revealing that Kawaki is now meeting with Team 7 to plot their strategy against Code.
While he prefers to learn from actual fights than theoretical explanations, Kawaki and Sarada are having a heated discussion regarding the latter’s training methods. Boruto puts out the fire and challenges Kawaki to a one-on-one fight, with the victor gaining the upper hand in training decisions. As Eida is watching, Code comes in and demands to know how he was able to remove his restraints and murder Naruto and Sasuke. Code’s shackles can be broken only by Amado, according to Eida, who explains that a voice and eye scan, as well as a unique gadget that Amado has on his eyes, are required.
Code is emotionally invested in Eida, thus he will not risk hurting her if he tries to assault her. When asked about her own family, Eida admits that contagious love will never work. But, it is not impossible for someone like Kawaki. In the meanwhile, Boruto first resists using his Karma during the one-on-one combat, but once he does, he completely dominates Kawaki. From that point on, Kawaki is resolved to prevent Momoshiki from ever again emerging.
