Warning: the following includes information that may ruin your experience with Chapter 380 of My Hero Academia by Kohei Horikoshi and Caleb Cook, translated into English by Viz Media. My Hero Academia went on an extended sabbatical after announcing it would be going dark three weeks ago. Kohei Horikoshi has returned to Jump, and his new chapter is full of action and excitement. Nothing particularly noteworthy occurred in this week’s chapter, although there were a lot of simultaneous events in My Hero Academia 380.
As predicted, fans saw many continuing fights as the war continues to escalate. As was to be expected, this chapter of the manga continued the chain reaction begun in the previous chapters and gave readers a good look at Gentle, who had lately returned to fight. Horikoshi appears not to be through reintroducing familiar faces, as several more made an appearance in this week’s instalment. All of this and more can be seen in the latest issue (#380) of My Hero Academia.
The Calm Side of La Brava
A few chapters ago, we were introduced to Gentle and La Brava. Even fewer followers hoped they would play a significant role in the climactic showdown, and a sizeable portion of the audience had already forgotten about them. It was a stroke of genius on Horikoshi’s part to include them in the Last War, and now they must save all of UA. In this week’s instalment, they accomplished this seemingly impossible task. In Chapter 380 of My Hero Academia, Gentle’s powers finally ran out.
Parallèlement, the Heroes from the United States of America business unit performed their share to document the proceedings. However, La Brava utilised her abilities to retake UA, and, as Gentle shouted, the island ultimately felt “far lighter” after the command was reasserted. Although this provides a short-term solution to one issue, the Heroes still have plenty of other pressing concerns that need their attention right away. Heroes need to do more than simply take over their area to win this battle at the present.
Support the Plan of One
Shigaraki has become a major obstacle for the Heroes. Fans know he is a threat, and Deku will have to go above and beyond to beat him. This is more true than ever since the constraints that people like Aizawa and Monoma imposed on him have not been lifted. Kurogiri has successfully eliminated Aizawa and Current Mic from the battlefield, meaning that they will be forced to face their old enemy head-on in one of the forthcoming chapters. As everything is going on, All For One, the story’s true main villain, appears to be making his way towards Shigaraki in an effort to take over his body.
Not much seemed to be going his way a few chapters ago, but strangely, he appears to have dealt with Hawks for the most part in this chapter. Even so, Hawks was still very active, and he did all he could to stop him, but he was ultimately unsuccessful. Keep in mind that this is a version of All For One who, at his peak, gravely injured the likes of All Might. He thinks of Hawks as no more than a fly, and the imbalance of power between them was on full display in this week’s chapter. Hawks is devoting his entire being to saving the next generation of Heroes and shielding the brave warriors who are risking their lives to save the innocent. But, he is facing an uphill struggle against history’s most formidable Bad Guy.
The Release of Shiketsu High
It was only at the very end of Chapter 380 of My Hero Academia that Hawks was saved by an unexpected ally. The students of Shiketsu High left their imprint, and author Horikoshi has brought back beloved characters from earlier storylines. As All For One was ready to blow Hawks to bits, it was Camei Who intervened to save him alive. Inasa soon joined her, and it was revealed that the two of them had been in charge of caring for the citizens and organising the evacuation. At this point, they see no reason not to join the fight, thus they have arrived.
Also, Inasa boasted that, as he is the one who controls the winds, there is no way that the winds of faith are blowing in All For One’s favour. Even though they’re all young and strong, defeating the greatest Villain of all time isn’t going to be easy. Helping Hawks delay All For One for as long as possible is their primary objective here. It’s unclear if they’ll be able to accomplish that goal. The latest chapter of My Hero Academia was a breath of fresh air for the show’s audience and raised expectations for the Heroes’ success in this arc.
