After a brief pause that was stated by mangaka Kohei Horikoshi, My Hero Academia will return with chapter 380 in Weekly Shonen Jump issue 12. MangaPlus and VIZ media have both modified their release schedules for the next chapter, which will now be available on Monday, February 20, at 12 am JST. Chapter 380 of My Hero Academia was scheduled to appear in Weekly Shonen Jump Issue 10 on February 5 at 12 a.m. JST. The news that Horikoshi will be absent for three weeks owing to health problems got out on February 1. As time went on, the official websites verified the news.

Condition of Horikoshi
The print edition was unable to accommodate the change in format since the break had not been preannounced. Character designs for the chapter’s main characters, including Deku in his Vigilante or “Black Deku” hero suit, have been published in Weekly Shonen Jump Issue 10. The 18th episode of Season 6 was released a day earlier than expected, therefore this was probably done in its honour. In order to recover from his health problems, the mangaka needs a break, which Shueisha has confirmed. Horikoshi also went on an unexpected hiatus in December 2022. It took until all the serialisations of Weekly Shonen Jump Issue 10 were published before the official websites were able to change the new release dates.
Considerations for the Future
Horikoshi has been quite open about his plans to wrap up My Hero Academia this year. The time it would take to tie up all the loose ends, however, caused him to backtrack. Many mysteries remain unanswered even as the series nears its conclusion. Several battlegrounds in this continuing conflict have not been covered. My Hero Academia, up to and including chapter 380, requires at least 50 more episodes to properly tell the plot. We haven’t seen Sero, Kirishima, and Aoyama’s battles yet. The mangaka has been given a three-week sabbatical to hopefully get over his health problems. The next several months are looking promising, but it would be wise to be ready for another unexpected delay or a lengthy sabbatical.
