After a long delay due to Kohei Horikoshi’s health, the release date for “My Hero Academia” Chapter 380 has been set. Both MangaPlus and Viz Media’s websites have been updated with the new chapter’s release date, and readers can expect to see the next development in the story in two weeks. The mangaka apparently had to take a three-week sabbatical owing to health difficulties, delaying the release of “My Hero Academia” Chapter 380 in Weekly Shonen Jump Issue 10 from February 5 to March 5. Later, the official website for the series acknowledged the news, but the manga will resume publication again shortly.
Because of the shift in timing, the printed version had to be reformatted.
The character design for Deku in his vigilante or Black Deku hero outfit, which was scheduled to accompany the new chapter, was previously printed in the magazine’s mentioned issue. But Shueisha has revealed the manga author has been ill and needs time off to get better. Horikoshi’s unexpected pause wasn’t the first time it had caught everyone off guard. An unexpected hiatus occurred in December 2022, and the official websites were unable to reflect the new publication dates until after all of the magazine serialisations had already been published. Happily, Chapter 380 of “My Hero Academia” was close to being released.
Horikoshi has declared his wish to wrap out the manga this year, citing the many pauses and his own health issues as reasons. But then he realised that there were still some loose ends that would need to be tied. Even though it’s towards the end, there are still many questions that haven’t been answered, much like the numerous battlefields of the continuing conflict that haven’t been discussed. It’s possible that, with the forthcoming chapter, he’ll need to finish the manga for another 50 chapters to do it right.
In the meanwhile, “Hopes,” Chapter 379 of “My Hero Academia,” centred on Lady Nagant and her transformation back into the hero she always was. She was severely wounded, yet she fought with Deku in Shigaraki’s body against All for One. From the distant hospital, she fired a shot that wounded AFO just as he turned to face Deku. It was the gunshot that caused AFO to lose control of Shigaraki’s body, making him vulnerable to Deku’s manipulation.
Shigaraki claimed he was no longer going to let AFO use him as a pawn now that he was in charge of his own body. He intended to destroy everything connected to the house since it reminded him of his troubled past and the things he had lost before AFO discovered him.
Deku has promised to continue to look out for Shigaraki, so the real deal will soon be facing off against him. On Sunday, February 19th, the long-awaited release of “My Hero Academia” Chapter 380 will occur.
