Luffy Soars!, Episode 1049 of One Piece. The return of Luffy to the fight arena is announced in the novel Revenge Against the King of the Beasts. It has been quite some time since he nearly drowned, was rescued by the Heart Pirates, and then spent time under Caribou’s care. The Animal Kingdom Pirates have been attempting to break through the defences of the Straw Hat Pirates and their allies for some time. The realisation that Luffy is still alive has solidified each of their individual motives. Yamato’s background was discussed in depth in the prior episode. We witnessed his mistreatment from an early age and the deaths of three of Wang’s strongest swordsmen so that he might take part in the fight against Kaido that was foretold to free Wano. Episode 1049 of One Piece sees Luffy’s return to One Piece in Gear 4.
Momonosuke and Luffy are aviators
Luffy rides Momonosuke in dragon form at the start of One Piece episode 1049. They aren’t in the air, though, but rather on the ground. Fear of heights and flying causes Momosonuke to freeze up. Luffy is incredulous that Momonosuke, now an adult samurai and dragon, is unable to fly, and an argument follows. Luffy manages to send Momonosuke flying, although with closed, teary eyes after much insulting and whisker pulling. But there’s more trouble brewing as they near Onigashima: Momonosuke doesn’t know how to land. Because of this, he wanders off course and causes havoc among the many battles going on in the Skull Dome.
Pitting Kaido against Yamato
Yamato’s resolve to take on Kaido was on full display in the last episode, but he still has a ways to go before he can rest easy. In One Piece Episode 1049, Yamato and Kaido continue their epic battle by trading more devastating strikes. Yamato can beat his father senselessly, drawing blood in the process. However, Kaido tries to undermine Yamato’s determination by telling him that he is an ogre kid and that the Samurai of Wano would never consider him an ally, despite Yamato’s declaration that he would not die until Luffy returns.
One Piece Episode 1049 shows Kaido saying that Yamato doesn’t have any friends, however, that’s not true because Yamato has pals like Ace. But then Kaido points out that he no longer has any living buddies. Kaido’s remarks have an impact, as Yamato loses concentration and starts getting beaten up hard. Cinematic shots of Yamato assaulting Kaido and Luffy in Gear 4 round off the show. The force of the blow rattles the entire building and knocks Kaido to the ground.
A short recap of One Piece 1048
Yamato’s origin story and the ways in which it has moulded him were explored in the prior episode. Fans watched as Kaido verbally and physically abused his kid for wanting to be Oden as Yamato and Kaido were at one other’s throats. When Yamato was young, Kaido had locked him and the other three Daimyos of Wano in a cave for a month with only enough food for one meal. Even though the samurai and their students were starving, they gave the meal to the young Yamato before continuing their lessons and reading from Oden’s notebook. The three swordsmen then gave their lives to release Yamato so he might participate in the foretold battle against Kaido. Meanwhile, Momonosuke was spotted in the air, but only for a little moment before he fell to the earth.
