The teaser photos and synopsis for the next episode 42 of Tokyo Revengers have been released by Liden Films. This episode will premiere on MBS in Japan on Sunday, January 29 at 2:08 am JST. Family Bonds is a new episode that will be streaming on Disney+ and Disney+ Hotstar throughout the world. Hulu subscribers in North America will soon be able to view the anime. Hakkai offered to join the Black Dragons in order to protect Takemichi from Taiju in the previous episode. At a later time, Takemichi confided in Chifuyu his time-travelling secret, and the two of them plotted to convince Mikey to prevent Hakkai from departing. Although the team of Hakkai and Mitsuya ultimately failed, Hakkai was not allowed to depart by Second Division Captain Takashi Mitsuya.
The trailer for Episode 4 of Season 2 of Tokyo Revengers suggests that Takemichi and Chifuyu will join Mitsuya. Family Bonds, the fourth episode of Tokyo Revengers season 2, picks off just where the previous episode left off, with Second Division Captain Takashi Mitsuya of the Tokyo Manji Gang rejecting his Vice-Captain Hakkai Shiba’s plea to quit the gang. Hakkai’s fear of his older brother Taiju Shiba was something Mitsuya had known about since Hakkai was a young boy. Fear and his commitment to joining Black Dragon to save Takemichi weren’t the true reasons he was leaving Tokyo Manji Gang; rather, he was doing so to protect his sister, Yuzuha Shiba, from domestic violence. For this reason, Mitsuya decided to personally meet with Taiju Shiba, the leader of the 10th Generation Black Dragons.
Takemichi Shiba, Toman’s Vice-Captain and partner Chifuyu Matsuno, and Hakkai Shiba, Toman’s eldest brother, will accompany Mitsuya to the meeting because Takemichi believes that Hakkai’s joining the Black Dragon will cause Hakkai to kill his older brother Taiju, resulting in the worst possible future for Toman. It appears from the previews that the meeting will occur in the upcoming episode, giving viewers a chance to discover more about the Shiba family’s past. Fans may even get a glimpse inside Mitsuya’s childhood and learn how he met Hakkai, who would go on to have a significant impact on his development. Seeing younger versions of Taiju, Hakkai, Yuzuha, and Mitsuya is a distinct possibility if this occurs in the next episode.
