Spoilers for the next My Hero Academia chapter 378 have been making the rounds online this week, and they hint at some welcome returns. Even if the chapter hasn’t been officially released yet, spoiler information and raw scans will usually match the official translations and visuals. Fans are excited about the return of several characters from previous chapters of My Hero Academia, such as Lady Nagant and Gentle Criminal. Further, they’ve come to aid protagonist Izuku Midoriya, called Deku, who had a significant influence on how they view their own villainy.
Fans, however, are already wondering how far Lady Nagant would go in combat, especially since Tomura Shigaraki appears to be her intended victim. Therefore, this article explores the question of whether or not Lady Nagant can prevail over Tomura Shigaraki, a fight presumably set up in the closing moments of My Hero Academia chapter 378. The last few seconds of My Hero Academia chapter 378 set up a close fight between Lady Nagant and Shigaraki. The first time readers encountered Lady Nagant was in the Tartarus Escapees arc, which occurred a while before My Hero Academia chapter 378. She was the major enemy here, as she was charged by All For One with locating and capturing Midoriya as he hid and licked his wounds. She’s very deadly, cruel, and skilled because she was formerly a Pro Hero.
With her right elbow, she can extend a rifle, making Rifle her primary Quirk. The weapon may be converted into a scope, giving her the option to shoot from a great distance if necessary. Also, by twisting and shaping her hair into a bullet shape and then hardening it, she can produce other kinds of bullets, including hollow-point and curved bullets. It has been proven that the range of her rifle shot is 3 kilometres and that this ammunition is as powerful as any other. Her ability to fire the gun with anything other than hair ammunition is yet unclear. What’s more, Lady Nagant’s second Air Walk Quirk may have been lost. However, she presumably still has All For One because she hasn’t used it since acquiring it.
Deku and Shigaraki’s battleground in My Hero Academia chapter 378 reveals that she has picked Tomura as her target. As she shoots off his hand at the issue’s conclusion, it’s evident she means business. Whether or whether she will be more than a minor distraction for the series’ major antagonist is still up in the air. It is reasonable to assume that Lady Nagant cannot deal significant damage to Shigaraki with only her Rifle Quirk. However, if she were to team up with Midoriya, they could be able to deal some damage to the villain, shifting her position from one of full offensive potential to one of support. It’s now much more difficult to predict how effective she’ll be versus Tomura Shigaraki in the episodes to come after My Hero Academia chapter 378. The bullets she fires will hurt Shigaraki, no matter what. Deku’s assistance in setting her up is irrelevant; she is still helping the cause and the bad guy gets hurt.
However, she couldn’t have defeated Shigaraki without the help of Deku and Lady Nagant’s Quirk. Moreover, Midoriya’s strikes are necessary for Lady Nagant to have a chance to cause some damage, which further suggests that she is not actually successful in the most literal sense of the word. The events in My Hero Academia Chapter 378 set the stage for speculation, but it seems probable that Lady Nagant will be unable to substantially harm Tomura Shigaraki on her own in future issues. Despite Midoriya’s best efforts, she needs the help and presence of another person in order to achieve her goals. If she couldn’t achieve anything without them, it’s impossible to say that she’s successful.
