There was a tonne of amazing action in One Piece 1069, and there were some really cool references to the Enies Lobby arc, too. With the CP0 making their move, the last chapter delivered the blows fans were hoping for between Luffy and Rob Lucci. Rob Lucci is a memorable bad guy in One Piece, and his battle with Luffy is one of Oda’s finest-ever drawn scenes. Even if there wasn’t a massive fight like the one readers witnessed before the time jump, the chapter preceding this one was still fun to read. All eyes are on One Piece 1070, which is right around the corner, now that the Cipher Pol and Marines are active.
‘Luffy vs. Rob Lucci’ is the climactic battle of One Piece 1070. Continues
Luffy’s encounter with Rob Lucci in the previous chapter showed him in Gear Fifth, which is the highest level of his fighting ability. Concurrently, the fully awakened Cat Cat Fruit that Lucci showed off was an absolute show-stopper. Oda utilised Luffy’s employment of Gear 5th to fight Lucci as a means of expanding his exposition on Devil Fruits and, more particularly, Nika’s awakening as a Devil Fruit. Using this form, Luffy made it look like he was in charge of the fight and effortlessly dominating Lucci. Lucci was initially knocked out, but the Zoan types’ remarkable resilience allowed him to return in time to deliver a fatal blow on Sentomaru, a leader in the Special Science Group.
Since Sentomaru was seriously hurt, Luffy is sure to become enraged once more. Before killing Sentomaru, Lucci had already eaten away at Atlas, the man who fed him. It’s safe to assume that One Piece 1070 will have further developments in the conflict between Luffy and Lucci. With more Devil Fruits at his disposal, Luffy may be able to deal considerable harm to Lucci this time around, maybe even permanently incapacitating him.
Chapter 1070 of One Piece: The Move of the Seraphim
One Piece 1070 will undoubtedly include Luffy’s return to battle, but the Seraphims’ command is arguably the most pivotal plot point. Oda has already laid out the chain of command for these entities. The Gorosei are the ones with the most influence on the Seraphims, followed by Dr Vegapunk’s bodies. He is second in command to Sentomaru, and the person who has the control chip is in command after that. It’s no secret to the audience that with Sentomaru out of commission, power is likely to go to CP0. One Piece 1070 shows that Lucci will turn to the Seraphims for help in his battle against Luffy.
This means that the Straw Hat Pirates will have to intervene sooner rather than later. Interestingly, Vegapunk and all his bodies have more control than the Seraphim bodies, which is a major difference. Furthermore, Vegapunk is in plain sight of the Seraphims in the prior chapter. This implies that he has the option of turning the Seraphims back against the CP0. If successful, the war will shift decisively against the CP0. The Straw Hats will have to rush in to save Luffy if this continues.
Number 1070: Admiral Kizaru Shows Up in One Piece
An exciting development occurred at the end of the last chapter when Sakazuki met with Navy authorities. Kizaru and a Navy fleet are en route to Egghead Island to aid the Cipher Pol in their struggle against Luffy, who has become a much greater menace now that he is a Yonko. So it looks like a major conflict is on the horizon, and with Kizaru around, things are only going to heat up. The fascinating part, though, is what Kizaru will do once he arrives at Egghead.
His primary objective is to destroy Luffy, although he is also suspected of having ties to Sentomaru. The latter calls Kizaru “uncle” out of respect, but never considers him an actual relative. In light of Lucci’s brutal attack on Sentomaru, it’s probable that Kizaru may unleash his full fury on the Cipher Pol. However, reacting impulsively to his feelings isn’t in keeping with who he is. Kizaru is the type of person who always gets the job done, so he’ll probably shrug off Sentomaru’s injuries and keep fighting Luffy and company despite the setback. Since Vegapunk is the main target, his life will be in imminent danger. On the other hand, with Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates looking out for him, he should make it off the island alive.
