It has been announced that the release of My Hero Academia Chapter 373 will occur at 12:00 a.m. JST on Monday, November 21, 2022. After one of the series’ most shocking cliffhangers yet, in which two characters, Present Mic and Spinner, use different identities to address the same companion, this issue will pick up where it left off. Spinner recognises him as fellow League of Villains member Kurogiri, whereas Present Mic knows him as classmate Oboro Shirakumo. Fans are eager to find out who he answers to and what he says in the upcoming 373rd issue because he has repeatedly called out to the same person. Indicators of what’s to come (speculative)
In the first place, it’s quite doubtful that series creator and artist Kohei Horikoshi will make any significant changes to the status quo of the Kurogiri/Shirakumo narrative. Over the course of the last few issues, the series has been leading up to this point. At the very least, viewers may expect to see Kurogiri/immediate Shirakumo’s reaction and actions in My Hero Academia Chapter 373. If the issue maintains this point of view, readers might expect to see Kurogiri/Shirakumo reflect on their past. Perhaps this will evolve into a full-fledged Kurogiri flashback explaining how he first appeared as Shirakumo, how he was recruited by All For One, and how he was eventually converted into Kurogiri.
There’s no way this wouldn’t excite the audience. What happens next, if My Hero Academia Chapter 373 switches viewpoints after presenting Kurogiri/initial Shirakumo’s responses, will presumably be determined by how Kurogiri/Shirakumo reacts. If he answers Spinner, attention will once again focus on All For One’s conflict with Endeavor and Hawks. Now that Spinner has saved Kurogiri, All For One is anticipated to divulge his plans about Kurogiri’s Quirk. Fans will likely skip back to the UA High refugee centre if he reacts to Present Mic, or they will watch Dabi take on Shoto or Izuku take on Shigaraki.
In order to return to a more interesting and exciting narrative, the first two would be necessary. The latter option suggests that All For One has a backup plan using his UA infiltrators, which might be used to counter Shirakumo’s reappearance in My Hero Academia Chapter 373.
