Recap of Chapter 166
Viron knows that a fierce fight is about to start and that the Rulers are having trouble setting their preparations in motion. Hearing Blaine’s bad news, the royals are worried about how they will respond when their adversaries finally arrive, despite the fact that they are well-prepared but have not yet obtained any tangible evidence of their superiority on the battlefield. Before the combat begins, Blaine keeps showing them where they’re weak and how their opponents are strengthening. The tyrant that lives in the Beast Glades’ Dungeons was another topic he covered.
Blaine is sitting down because Aldir told him to be respectful among grownups and he was acting irrationally. Aldir probes Varay’s thoughts on the current predicament. Varay agrees with the Artificer that she lacks an in-depth understanding of the Dicatheous’s creation. Moreover, she mentions the ship’s absence of proof as a clue. One of the kings or queens is concerned that they are being set up for a trap, that they are being forced to disperse their forces in order to escape the Glades. It makes sense, Aldir thinks, for the Alacyans to abandon their dispersed force somewhere along the Western Coast, which is where they plan to launch their attack.
The elf woman also discussed the escalating difficulty and the discovered ship. Aldir questions whether or not this is a safe bet to make. The Alacryan Cythian, who thought her people were slowly building an army in the depths of the Beast Glades, was another topic he covered. But if they think Vritra just planned that action, they’re fools.
What This Chapter Is About?
It All Begins at the End After Tessia figures out what the Dicatheous is all about, the story continues in Chapter 167. Tessa, Varay, and Emily consult with the scientific wizard, professor Gideon, before travelling to a new world to do research. At the start of this chapter, the wise old Viron is deep in thought. Viron sees that the situation is not developing as planned. If “they” refers to The Rulers, he wonders if they are unprepared. Professor Gideon, meantime, talks to a fuming Blaine. Blaine doubts Gideon’s conviction on the subject at hand. That’s exactly what Gideon said, and Gideon acknowledges it.
But he can’t be sure the Alacryan ship is theirs; it’s only his guess. The ship they found is not the Dicatheous, as Gideon freely confesses. After several hours of inquiry, however, they concluded that the ship wasn’t the Dicatheous after all. Gideon claims to be certain, but the aristocrats are sceptical since they have never seen a ship like it before or since. Gideon admits that he was quite proud of the Dicatheous and that he always wanted everyone to know that he was the one who came up with it. There are no identifying marks on the ship, therefore it can’t be the Dicatheous, he explains, so he set up markers.
Gideon discloses that several materials were used to construct the ship’s skeleton. Blaine becomes agitated, but Viron reassures him that they will eventually uncover the truth about the mysterious ship and come up with a better plan than relying on Dicatheous. After hearing what Gideon is saying, Blaine is confused as to why he needs to unwind. He is aware that the enemy is stocked with battleships and that they have not yet discovered any. Blaine discloses that the adversaries can transport several troops and spellcasters across the seas.
