The spoilers for Chapter 372 of My Hero Academia not only reveal further information about how the Central Hospital squad was chosen, but also provide a glance into the backstories of Kouda and Spinner. Breaking into the hospital serves to highlight Kurogiri’s significance to the bad guys. Shoji’s tragic backstory and his heroic rescue of a drowning kid were exposed in Chapter 371. This showed once again how AFO has successfully eroded Spinner’s free will and turned him into a mindless tool for his scheme. My Hero Academia chapter 372 is supposedly named “Naked” in the spoiler sections.
Spoilers for My Hero Academia Chapter 372
Spoilers for My Hero Academia 372 hint at the history of Spinner and Kouda as the mutants question their motivations. Spoilers for My Hero Academia Chapter 372 state that Koda and Shoji asked for Aizawa and All Might to be placed on that squad after learning about the mutant attack on Central Hospital from the big civilian lady. Aizawa requested Present Mic accompany him to Central Hospital after realising the villains had seen through the lies they had concocted. Shoji and Kouda’s current level of resolve has Present Mic convinced that they are more powerful than he and his two pals were when they were teenagers.
A further flashback shows that Kouda’s dad isn’t a mutant, although he did stick up for his horned wife when she was teased at school. Kouda’s mom gave him the assurance that he, too, would grow horns one day, which would only make him more peculiar. To counter Spinner’s Octo Expansion, Shoji unleashes Hitchcock Buzz on the PLF General. In light of Ayoyama’s predicament, Shoji inquires Spinner and the rest of the mutants as to whom they feel most compelled to provide protection. He states once again that this assault will escalate hostility toward mutants.
In another recollection, we learn that the locals scarred Shoji for saving the girl’s life. Spinner, recalling the time he was alone, retorts that even if the heroes triumph, nothing will change. He then leads the assembled mutants through the hospital’s reinforced concrete walls. Because the mutants are following their leader, the cops have to defend themselves with weapons. Seeing a room blocked off by medical staff, a mutant assumes that they must be attending to a patient inside and moves on. Spinner, meantime, recalls that AFO informed him that Kurogiri was in the research tower and that he needed to play a voice recording of Tomura or AFO in order to rouse the nomu.
Spinner needs Kurogiri to succeed with his scheme, and doing so would make him Tomura’s hero. After realising that nobody is pursuing him, Spinner keeps walking. Spinner has always been an outcast, as depicted by the image of the young evil fleeing alone. Present Mic shows in and tells him that Shoji’s speech has gotten everyone outside, and that Spinner has little chance of succeeding if he continues on this path. Chapter 372 of My Hero Academia closes with Spinner and Present Mic yelling “Kurogiri” and “Shirakumo,” respectively, as they run towards the tower.
Speculations
As established in Chapter 372 of My Hero Academia, Spinner’s backstory is fraught with pain and loneliness, and this is something that will be explored in greater depth in future volumes. The man is being influenced by AFO and his want to become a hero, yet his criticisms of the heroes’ passivity are valid. The fact that the cops use weapons so casually on Mutants is another evidence of this. The physicians presumably think the chamber they’ve sealed off is crucial in the grand scheme of things. It’s intriguing that Kurogiri only answers Tomura’s or AFO’s voice, but what role he plays in AFO’s intentions is still a mystery. Present Mic may be able to contact Shirakumo who is currently imprisoned within Kurogiri if the technique involves a specific frequency.
