The spectacular damage and conflicts that ensue have made a lasting impression on fans, who have hailed them as bones’ finest hour of work on the series. Episode 5 has wowed viewers with its stunning visuals and expertly crafted story. The sixth episode of My Hero Academia’s fifth season begins up with Dabi and Hawks going at it again. The former appears to have prevailed here, having burned off all of the latter’s feathers thanks to its Fierce Wings Quirk. When Hawks realise they are helpless without weapons or an exit, they give up hope. Fortunately, Tokoyami is there to save the day.

Tokoyami and his instructor make it out of the Gunga Mountain Villa alive after a few hairy moments, leaving Dabi to bemoan his recklessness. Next, we cut to the Pro Heroes fighting the High Ends, who are under the belief that Shigaraki has been killed out. This, however, is not the case, as they quickly discover. Shigaraki comes to life and kills Pro Hero X-Less. At the same time, the first person to ever use One for All warns Izuku Midoriya that Shigaraki is on his way. According to the user, a transcendent being who has escaped the bonds of mankind has finally come. After awakening his Decay Quirk, Shigaraki begins destroying everything in his path.

Meanwhile, Gran Torino, the first to comprehend what was occurring, rescues the Pro Heroes by saving Present Mic’s life and, in doing so, Dr Garaki. Torino warns the others to flee for their lives since the Decay Quirk has become a chain reaction and will kill anybody who comes into contact with the enormous wave of Decay. Fans watch as Shigaraki stands alone in the aftermath of the Decay wave’s destruction of the city. By calling Gigantomachia, he awakens the beast and tells it is time to begin its destruction. Ending with a preview of next week’s battle between Endeavor and Shigaraki, My Hero Academia Season 6 Episode 5 comes to a close.

The Shigaraki segment of the show has been singled out for its fan acclaim for its superb animation and adaptation. In particular, several viewers have commented on the episode’s storyboarding, applauding the episode’s pacing and adaptation choices. Some fans have even gone so far as to argue that this episode proves the anime is better than the manga, which is high praise indeed. Additionally, many viewers have praised the episode for featuring Shigaraki as a real villain. Fans have praised the episode’s action sequences and Shigaraki’s general animation as some of the bones’ most significant work to date. The anime-only arrangements that Bones brought to the show have also received high marks.

In general, it seems that fans are very pleased with Episode 5 of Season 6 of My Hero Academia, with many even claiming that it is the finest episode of the series so far.
