‘The Flash’ to star Javicia Leslie in final season

As most people know, The Flash will air its final episode during season nine on CW. Due to its current season, the programme has surpassed Arrow as the longest-running of the network’s original superhero series. Having aired for over a decade, the programme has decided to end on its own terms rather than being cancelled suddenly. Javicia Leslie, who starred as Batwoman, has been cast in the role in an effort to make the last season as exciting and memorable as possible. Leslie’s position in the series finale has been kept secret, reports Entertainment Weekly. It is still unknown how many episodes the actress will appear in, which is a crucial piece of information. Whatever form her final-season cameo takes, Leslie will be familiar to fans of the Arrowverse.

This casting news comes a few months after the CW cancelled the programme after three seasons, with the actress taking over as Batwoman in Season 2. She did so for a total of 31 episodes. Showrunner Caroline Dries was the first to break the news of Batwoman’s termination on Twitter, expressing both sadness and gratitude for the talented crew she has worked with on the programme. This series features the work of many inspiring and intelligent individuals.” The departure of the show’s original lead, Rose, shows that Dries’s tenure as showrunner was not without its share of bumps.

The actress left the show after the first season and then made complaints against the whole production. Leslie’s casting as Wonder Woman was the first time a Black actress had played the DC Comics character. When shooting for the final season wraps up in March 2023, Leslie will have joined the cast. There will only be 13 episodes this season, which is much fewer than in previous seasons. In August, it was revealed that the season would be ending, and showrunner Eric Wallace issued a statement that said, in part, “The ninth year! The nine years of heroic service to Central City and its inhabitants have taken viewers on an adventure filled with pathos, hilarity, and spectacular action.

And with that, Barry Allen has arrived at the starting line of his final race. Next, Wallace expresses gratitude to the show’s cast and crew and explains that he wants this last season to be one to remember. Grant Gustin, who portrays the title character on the programme, has also responded to the news, calling it “bittersweet” and thanking fans while also expressing relief that the show would “end on our terms.” The Flash season 9 is currently in development and is scheduled to premiere in 2023.
