A New Teaser for ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ Introduces an All-Star Hero

In anticipation of its November 11 release, Marvel has released a new trailer for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The Twitter clip advertises a sequel full of action, with both new and old characters returning to defend Wakanda. Wakanda Forever’s newest trailer hints at an additional danger following the conclusion of the last film. A scene of the aquatic monarch Namor (Tenoch Huerta) rising is shown at the beginning of the 45-second teaser trailer, followed by the foreboding threat, “He’s coming.” In the trailer, Namor looks to be the major antagonist, charging headfirst into battle and bringing down an entire airship with a single swing of his staff.

Later on, though, when he is assaulted in the same way, the weapon simply breaks on his back, promising that he would not be easily beaten and leaving no indication of wounds. He says, “Wakanda will crumble without the Black Panther.” M’Baku (Winston Duke) says with a worried expression, “That can’t be good.” The trailer also features Namor invading the throne room, where Ramonda (Angela Bassett) and Riri (Dominique Thorne) are observing the fight. Similarly, the inhabitants of Wakanda are seen in the trailer to be unyielding. So, let’s get going! Riri, suited up and ready to fly into combat, yells at the top of her lungs. Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o) is also armed and ready to do fight with Namor and his forces in this scene.

Although Chadwick Boseman’s King T’challa is remembered in the teaser trailer, it is unclear who will perform the character in the final film. T’challa’s sister, Shuri (Letitia Wright), is seen briefly in white mourning clothes as she holds her brother’s helmet during the burial procession. In his respect, it was already confirmed that Boseman would not be replaced as T’challa, but rather a new figure will assume the role of the Black Panther. Since then, speculation has mounted that Shuri will replace her brother as the country’s protector in the new teaser, but neither Marvel Studios nor the studio has acknowledged this, nor has it disclosed the name of the sibling in question.

As Ramonda declares, “Now is our time to attack,” the audience does get a peek at the new Black Panther, complete with the character’s deadly claws. Wakanda, still in grief over the loss of its monarch, will have to defend itself from a new enemy in the upcoming film. Danai Gurira as Okoye, Michaela Cole as Aneka, Mabel Cadena as Namora, and Florence Kasumba as Everett K. Ross round out the film’s supporting ensemble (Ayo). Coogler and Joe Robert Cole reteamed to pen the screenplay for the sequel, which Coogler also directed. The film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is set for release on November 11th.
