The epic release of Black Adam is imminent, arriving in only one week. Promoting the picture has been hampered, however, because the whole post-credits scene was released online just one day after the international premiere. The leak has been confirmed by Variety and has been circulating on Twitter and TikTok for a while now. We won’t give anything away here, though, because it would ruin the fantastic movie experience. Twitter and other sites have been working to delete the video and any references to it after Warner Bros. filed a copyright lawsuit demanding that it be removed.
In recent years, it has become common for videos to include the message, “This media has been disabled in response to a report by the copyright owner.” While leaks of set photos are commonplace—I immediately think of the worst kept secret in the world of three Spider-Men in Spider-Man: No Way Home and the lineup of The Illuminati in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness—an entire post-credit scene leaking a week before the film’s release is unprecedented. We don’t know who launched this leak, but early screenings have been rampant since yesterday night’s debut. The origin is therefore completely hypothetical. Because of this, the disappointment of waiting for Black Adam is compounded. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has been attempting to create this movie for over a decade, and it will finally mark the big screen debut of the oldest superhero team in comics, the Justice Society of America.
Beyond that, the feedback from the public has been overwhelmingly positive. It’s unfortunate that Black Adam’s big screen premiere had to be wrecked by the Internet, but it’s especially tragic considering the film’s significance to fans and those involved in making it. As this piece is being written, the videos are being aggressively removed. Keep away from Twitter and TikTok till next week if you don’t want to know anything about Black Adam. On October 21st, Black Adam will be released officially over the world. Johnson, Noah Centineo, Pierce Brosnan, Quintessa Swindell, Aldis Hodge, and Sarah Shahi are all included in the anti-hero epic.
