As a new teaser for National Geographic’s Limitless has been published, viewers will soon be able to see Chris Hemsworth uncover the limits of the human body. Beginning on November 16, the series will be available exclusively on Disney+. In the preview, we see Hemsworth joining up with famous scientists and through six perilous tests to discover the secrets of immortality. There will be six episodes in total, and each one will focus on a different challenge that the actor will have to overcome with the help of these professionals.
The teaser does an excellent job of showcasing both the breathtaking natural landscape and the perilous exploits that Hemsworth will be attempting. In the episode “Stress-Proof,” Hemsworth teams up with Psychologist Modupe Akinola to tackle a number of difficult tasks, including maintaining his composure while traversing a crane across a building. During the course of “Shock,” Hemsworth, along with his brothers Liam and Luke, will attempt to subject themselves to the most severe cold temperatures in the arctic in an effort to extend their lifespans.
In the episode “Fasting,” Dr Peter Attia advises Hemsworth to go without food for four days, which will give him the willpower to go on a food search in the Great Barrier Reef. Hemsworth, with the guidance of extreme sports expert Ross Edgley, will face the 100-foot rope climb challenge in an effort to gain even more muscle mass in “Strength.” Hemsworth’s memory will be put to the test in the episode “Memory,” in which neurologist Dr Sharon Sha will send him into the bush without a map or GPS and force him to rely only on his wits to stay alive. Lastly, in the episode “Acceptance,” Hemsworth faces his greatest extreme and emotional battle as he spends three days in a retirement village wearing an ageing costume that will change routine duties into one of the most difficult difficulties the actor endures. Tanya Streeter, a professional freediving specialist, will teach Hemsworth how to hold his breath for extended periods of time, and Dr BJ Miller, president and counsellor at Mettle Health, will aid him as well.
When the series premieres on Disney+ this autumn, viewers will certainly be on the edge of their seats to watch Hemsworth face incredible adversity and test his limits to the absolute maximum. Both Hemsworth and Ben Grayson of Wild State, Oscar-nominated director Darren Aronofsky and his producing partner Ari Handel, are executive producers on the picture through their respective companies, Protozoa and Wild State. As well as Bengt Anderson and Matt Renner of National Geographic, the series also has Nutopia’s Jane Root, Arif Nurmohamed, and Ruth Shurman attached as executive producers.
On November 16, Disney+ will air the first episode of Limitless.
