Get your first look at the colourful cast of the upcoming second season of The Mysterious Benedict Society. Based on Trenton Lee Stewart’s best-selling novels, the programme follows the exploits of four exceptionally talented orphans who are recruited by Mr Benedict (Tony Hale) on a top-secret mission to thwart the schemes of Mr Curtain (Tony Hale, again). Reynie Muldoon (Mystic Inscho), George “Sticky” Washington (Seth Carr), Kate Wetherall (Emmy DeOliveira), and Constance Contraire (Marta Kessler) were young heroes who risked all in the first season to prevent “The Emergency” from destroying the planet.
When the season is done, Mr Benedict and the kids have successfully executed a plot to destroy the Whisperer, a gadget developed by Mr Curtain to plant subliminal messages into the minds of people all around the world. It appears that Season 2 promotional photos feature the group in their most eye-catching distinctive looks and their finest “whodunit” expressions. More problems from Mr Benedict’s evil counterpart, Mr Curtain, are hinted at by his arrival. After a trailer for Season 3 premiered a few weeks ago, here we have your first look at anything from the upcoming season. In the clip, the kids reunited for a treasure hunt planned by Mr Benedict.
When they realise Mr Benedict and his trusted aide Number Two (Kristen Schaal) are missing, however, the stakes swiftly climb. They are subsequently shown to have been abducted by Mr Curtain, who is pleased to get credit for resolving “The Emergency” rather than criticism for causing it. The youngsters must then go on a perilous journey through land, sea, and air as they try to discover the location of the missing duo and foil Mr Curtain’s next dastardly scheme once more. Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi, who also wrote Ride Along and Clash of the Titans, are responsible for creating the series. Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments and Smallville producers Darren Swimmer and Todd Slavkin round out the trio as showrunners.
Even though it has not been officially announced, at least two more seasons will be required to cover all of Stewart’s material if the streaming giant intends to stick with the pattern of one season per book. The Mysterious Benedict Society returns to Disney+ on October 26 with two all-new episodes.
