Preparation for filming a wildly anticipated biography Once manufacturing resumed in the middle of August, Ferrari really stepped on the gas. Now that filming has begun in Italy, locals may enjoy seeing some of Enzo Ferrari’s most incredible automobiles on the streets. The narrative follows the protagonist, a guy whose name and the company became synonymous with the world’s fastest automobiles and motorsports. An early look at the film shows Adam Driver as the legendary inventor of the Ferrari luxury sports automobile and racing car. It’s unclear where he is or what he’s wearing, but the older man with the silvering hair and Ferrari-branded sunglasses isn’t smiling.
The main character’s journey will undoubtedly include highs and lows given the biographical nature of the film. One of the early Ferrari cars, in bright yellow, may be seen in a wet scene. The appearance of an apparent executive suggests that this image may show a test run of the Ferrari vehicle in extreme conditions, which may make or break a race car and are crucial to building a reputation in the racing industry. Indicative of the model’s performance in bad weather, if the two pictures are from the same scene, is the driver’s look of dismay. Michael Mann, nominated four times for an Oscar and known for the pulse-pounding tempo of his thrillers, is at the helm of the action flick Ferrari.
Since Mann’s characters aren’t often that simple, it’s likely that he’s taken on a project that doesn’t paint the sports car pioneer in the best possible light. The narrative, written by Mann and Troy Kennedy Martin (The Italian Job) and inspired by Brock Yates’ Ferrari: The Man and the Machine, drives this point home. The film adaptation may follow the lead of the biography, which does not gloss over Ferrari’s questionable behaviour. Penélope Cruz (Parallel Mothers) plays Laura Ferrari, Shailene Woodley (Big Little Lies) plays Lina Lardi, Patrick Dempsey (Grey’s Anatomy) plays Piero Taruffi, Jack O’Connell (Unbroken) plays Peter Collins (also a race car driver), Sarah Gadon (Cosmopolis) plays Linda Christian, and Gabriel Leone (Dark Days) plays the charismatic Fon De Portago.
A release date and trailer for Ferrari have not yet been announced.
