The debut date of the next Netflix adventure Slumberland may be a bit away, but it’s never too soon to gain a closer peek into its tale. The movie stars Jason Momoa (Aquaman) as a man-beast who accompanies a tiny girl on an adventure in a dreamland where everything is possible. Marlow Barkley, who rose to fame on the ABC series Single Parents, makes her debut in this fantasy picture. While the previous trailer gave us a taste of Momoa’s trip with little Nemo (Barkley), the new video puts the popular actor front and centre.
Once again, the video shows the creative journey that is going to make for a fascinating watch with tonnes of enchantment, thrilling rides, colourful characters, and gorgeous settings. The Slumberland clip also implies that the childhood narrative is about sadness and remembering the past. Nemo’s father was the centre of her world, and his unexpected death left her reeling. For her, a time in the realm of possibility offers the chance to meet her dad again, which raises the question: what type of lesson is she going to learn at the conclusion of her journey? Get the box of tissues ready. Inspired by Winsor McCay’s early 20th-century comic strip series Little Nemo in Slumberland. The largest difference that the video implies till now is the transition of the protagonist from a small boy to a little girl – which, of course, has absolutely little impact in a narrative about childhood fantasies and imagination.
Aside from Barkley and Momoa, the adventure also stars Kyle Chandler, India de Beaufort, Chris O’Dowd, Humberly González, and Tonya Cornelisse. Francis Lawrence, who made his directorial debut with Constantine and went on to oversee I Am Legend, the final three films in The Hunger Games franchise, and episodes of Apple TV+’s See, is at the helm of this action flick. David Guion and Michael Handelman, who also authored Night at the Museum 2: Secret of the Tomb and will compose the script for Harold and the Purple Crayon: The Movie, wrote the screenplay for Slumberland. On November 18, Slumberland will make its debut on Netflix.
