“Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities” Teaser, Synopsis, Release Date & Cast Details

In anticipation of his impending horror event, Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities, the monster master invites you to see the latest teaser. The first 2 episodes of the Netflix anthology series will be released on the streaming service on October 25, with two more episodes dropping each night for the next three weeks. The preview had given viewers a taste of the mini-anthology series’ unbridled terror. There are snippets from episodes such as “Lot 36,” “Dreams in the Witch House,” and “Graveyard Rats” scattered throughout the first look.

While the details of the plot have yet to be revealed, the teaser assures those who are courageous enough to embark on the voyage with the director of Pan’s Labyrinth that they will be in for a treat. F. Murray Abraham, Rupert Grint, Andrew Lincoln, Essie Davis, Luke Roberts, Hannah Galway, Demetrius Grosse, Ben Barnes, Crispin Glover, Peter Weller, Sofia Boutella, David Hewlett, and Eric AndrĂ© are just a few of the well-known actors that will be included in the film. This collection of shorts, titled “Cabinet of Curiosities,” is a glimpse inside the mind of one of our generation’s greatest masters of horror, Guillermo del Toro.

To a large extent, the film will be an adaptation of the director’s memoir, Guillermo Del Toro Cabinet of Curiosities: My Notebooks, Collections, & Other Obsessions (2013), in which he shared the experiences and thoughts that inspired the film. Del Toro has not only recruited an impressive cast for his anthology series, but also top-tier creative minds to help design each episode. Stories directed by Jennifer Kent (The Babadook), David Prior (The Empty Man), and Keith Thomas (Firestarter) will be included. The screenplays will be written by Panos Cosmatos and Aaron Stewart-Ahn (Mandy) and David S. Goyer (The Dark Knight) based on stories by H.P. Lovecraft.

There are several terrifying tales here, and the wide variety of voices and acting styles guarantees that at least one of them will stay with you long after you finish the project. Even though it will be a few weeks until the launch of Cabinet of Curiosities, this teaser should give you the creeps as we approach the scary season.
