The third season of Acorn TV’s murder mystery series My Life is Murder has a trailer, and it promises more strange cases to solve and the return of some familiar faces. Once again starring as Alexa Crowe, Lucy Lawless deals with the brutal world of a murder investigation and her own peculiar way of living. In the preview, we see Alexa Crowe return to Auckland, New Zealand, where she plunges headfirst into new cases every week, facing off against a wide range of suspects from bizarre billionaires to tango dancers to fashionistas to grieving florists, and even a few familiar faces like Boba Fett himself, Temuera Morrison, and Obi-Wan Kenobi star Simone Kessell.
Will the motley crew of suspects band together to help the notorious Alexa, or will they discover that crossing her is not a simple task? The second season of My Life is Murder, which first debuted in Australia in 2019, has been picked up for a 2021 launch on Acorn TV. Alexa, the protagonist of Lawless, is a former police investigator turned private eye who professes to be a “lone wolf.” The series follows Alexa as she moves back to her native Auckland, New Zealand, and finds herself entangled in murder investigations despite her best efforts to avoid them.
Who knows what mysteries are in store for the gifted detective, but the new teaser is just as odd and cheery as viewers have come to anticipate from the new programme. In this quirky mystery series, Lawless, who is well known for her role as Xena in Xena: Warrior Princess, shines as Alexa. Previous seasons have featured guest appearances from William Shatner and Bill Bailey. Season 3 of Lawless features a cast that includes series regulars Ebony Vagulans, who reprises her role as Alexa’s partner Madison Feliciano, Rawiri Jobe, Joe Naufahu, Martin Henderson, who plays Alexa’s recently released brother from prison, and Zeppelin, who reprises his role as Alexa’s beloved cat Chowder.
Tatum Warren-Ngata, a relative newcomer, will also be joining the ensemble. Other than Lawless, the show’s executive producers are Rachel Antony and Claire Tonkin. Produced by Mark Beesley and starring Harriet Crampton, Nicky Davies Williams, Pilar Perez, and Don Klees. On October 10, Acorn TV will air the debut of the third season of My Life Is Murder.
