Chloe Bennet will be a series regular on FXX’s “Dave” for its upcoming third season

In Season 3 of FXX’s Dave, a new character will hit the road with Dave Burd. Chloe Bennet, a regular on the previous season of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., has reportedly joined the ensemble this time around and will have a significant story arc spanning many episodes. Burd, better known by his rap name Lil Dicky, is the inspiration for the character of Dave in the biopic on his life and career. Many episodes focus on his neurotic antics and the problems of those around him as he attempts to scratch & claw his way to the top, all the while believing he can become the greatest rapper alive.

Dave’s second season included him attempting to forge his own path in the rap business while also dealing with the heartbreak of a split with his fiancĂ©e and a disagreement with his hype man, Davionte “GaTa” Ganter. Because of the positive reception to Burd’s second episode, the series was renewed early this year. Burd, his real-life hype man GaTa, producer Benny Blanco, Taylor Misiak, Andrew Santino, Travis “Taco” Bennett, and Christine Ko are all already on board, and Bennet is just the latest addition to the group. Bennet will portray Robyn, a Wisconsin photographer who meets Dave during his travels.

Despite the fact that Season 3’s storyline specifics are being kept under wraps for the time being, the mini-arc hints that Dave will be touring the country to promote his record after his attempts to break through at the VMAs were overshadowed by a surprise drop from Arianna Grande. Bennet played Daisy “Sky” Johnson, aka Quake, for eight seasons on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and has repeated the role in a number of shorts and television movies. Her first recurring role was in the Emmy-nominated series Nashville on CMT.

In the years after, she’s starred in DreamWorks’ Abominable and will be heard again in the upcoming sequel series Abominable and the Invisible City and the upcoming film The Silk Road Rally, co-starring Sharon Horgan and J.K. Simmons. Dave was developed by Burd and Jeff Schaffer and is made by FX Productions. Saladin K. Patterson, Ben Sinclair, Luvh Rakhe, Scooter Braun, Greg Mottola, Marty Bowen, Mike Hertz, & SB Projects’ James Shin & Scott Manson are the other executive producers; Kevin Hart has also joined the team as an executive producer through his Hartbeat Productions.
Season 3 of Dave has not yet been scheduled for release.
Hulu subscribers may see the entire series right now.
