Following up on the 2016 throwback slasher film Terrifier, in which the terrifying mime Art the Clown butchered unwary Halloween revellers, comes the sequel, simply titled Terrifier 2. There will be the last girl in Lauren LaVera’s Sienna, something the first film didn’t really have, and the narrative is reported to be more developed in Terrifier 2 than in the terrible original. Also different from the first Terrifier, Terrifier 2 will have a wide theatrical release in October, showing in more than 800 locations throughout the country.
An exclusive trailer from the forthcoming slasher written and directed by Damien Leone has premiered on ScreenRant after making waves at this year’s FrightFest. The strange new footage is set in a dreamlike production of an Art the Clown-inspired television programme, and it doesn’t have the usual stuff one would anticipate from a short displaying Art the Clown. At the outset of the video, Sienna can be seen dressed in naive, almost cartoonishly pure attire. She starts to observe a youngster, maybe her son, as he eats a dish of “Art Crispies,” which turns out to be a mix of bugs and razor blades.
Sienna is shocked when Art suddenly appears from a window that seems like it belongs to a food truck, introduced by a lady who may be the host of a children’s programme. This preview demonstrates that Terrifier 2 will be an exciting improvement over its predecessor, delivering a new sort of slasher to the viewer. Besides LaVera, the cast of Terrifier 2 also includes David Howard Thornton (as the wicked Art the Clown), Felissa Rose, Chris Jericho, Elliott Fullam, Sarah Voigt, Kailey Hyman, Casey Hartnett, Griffin Santopietro, and Samantha Scaffidi. Soon, you’ll be able to see it on Screambox after its theatrical release via Bloody Disgusting.
The film has a large length of roughly 2 hours and 20 minutes and is said to be much more vicious and nasty than the original picture. Although Terrifier was Leone’s first Art the Clown film, he had been using the character for quite some time previous to that. Leone’s feature film debut, All Hallow’s Eve (2013), was an anthology film that included Art, who made his initial appearance in Leone’s 2008 short film The 9th Circle and then returned in 2011 for another short film adaptation of Terrifier. Leone has stated that he has so much material for a third instalment of The Terrifier that it might easily extend into a fourth instalment. On October 6th, Cinedigm and Iconic Events will release the sequel to the horror film Terrifier.
