The release date for FX’s new limited series, Fleishman Is In Trouble, is set for November 17 on Hulu. The launch will feature the first two episodes, and each consecutive Thursday will bring the release of a new instalment in the eight-part series. The series will debut on Star+ in Latin America and Disney+ in all other markets outside the United States under the Star brand. The limited series, starring Jesse Eisenberg, Claire Danes, and Lizzy Caplan, is adapted from Taffy Brodesser-best-selling Akner’s novel of the same name. In Fleishman Is In Trouble, Eisenberg plays Dr Toby Fleishman, a 41-year-old widower who, to his surprise, has a lot of luck utilising dating apps after his recent divorce.
Toby’s ex-wife Rachel (Danes) mysteriously disappears, leaving him in charge of their two children and the promise of flings with every available woman Manhattan has to offer. Toby has to deal with his kids, the probable promotion at work, the mystery of what happened to Rachel, and the return of two old pals (Caplan and Adam Brody) during the summer that was intended to be his first summer of sexual freedom. Toby will quickly discover that the key to understanding what happened to his ex-wife lies in retracing his steps and reevaluating the foundational flaws in their marriage. Brodesser-Akner created and wrote the script for the television show based on her novel.
Additionally, she is an executive producer alongside Sarah Timberman, Carl Beverly, and Susannah Grant. The directors and executive producers of the series are Little Miss Sunshine’s Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris. Multiple episodes have been directed by Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini, who also serve as executive producers and directors. The series also stars Christian Slater, Josh Radnor, Maxim Jasper Swinton, Meara Mahoney Gross, Joy Suprano, Michael Gaston, and Juani Feliz in recurring roles.
Eisenberg, who previously portrayed a younger slacker in films like The Squid and the Whale, Adventureland, and Zombieland, seems to have found his ideal character for an adult self. Eisenberg has starred as a variety of characters in critically praised films including The Social Network, Now You See Me, and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Eisenberg’s upcoming filmography includes the critically acclaimed Manodrome, as well as the cult classics The Medusa and A Real Pain. On November 17, Hulu will debut the first two episodes of Fleishman Is In Trouble. A trailer is expected to arrive sooner rather than later, given that the premiere is less than two months away.
